Giving up the 2014 GT

Well...like the title says...I've applied for financing on another car, and assuming I can work out my negative equity in my current car and still get a good interest rate, I'm going to move forward with getting the new car.

Don't get me wrong...I love the 5.0 and I've put about 8k into this one already on aftermarket stuff. But this car just isn't practical for me. I need better gas mileage and more luxury features. I'm tired of people calling me a hillbilly red neck for having a muscle car. Im 90 percent set on getting a Kia Optima or a Honda Accord. Although I just test drove a Kia Rio and I was super impressed! Decisions decisions...

I'm kidding...I'm about to pick up a 2014 gt500!!!

The real question is...should I put my forge star rims on the gt500 or keep the stock ones? The dealer will let me swap rims, but I'm not certain which direction I want to go. I feel like the stock rims are better quality. Thoughts?

Think you should part it out though.

Guess it's better than parting out a twin turbo built 5.0 and trading the 5.0 back in like it's stock for a Raptor

It's more practical then spending more money on my car. My two options are to buy the 14 or supercharge my current car. If the financing and numbers are good, I'll go with the gt500. If not I'll supercharge my current car. I still need to take a couple days to make my decision, but the financing stuff should be done tomorrow. I also test drove a 2015 hellcat. But there is crazy mark up around here on them. Not an option right now, but it's an insane car.

I'll part out everything I can take off minus my rims. I wish I had my stock shifter still so I could take out my race spec.

Yeah they're dyno queens. Boost your current one. Way less money in the long run could you get to choose what goes on the car

If this deal goes down I might accept a trade of stock brembo rims plus cash

I've been debating doing something similar for a Corvette which is why I keep my factory parts. Congrats on the Shelby.

Giving up the 2014 GT

Same suspension upgrades can be done to the GT500. As well as DR or slicks.

Even a boosted GT with the same identical suspension stock setup as the GT500 would be considered a dyno queen.

If he can afford the GT500 then I say get it. Upgrade the suspension and you'll have a much better and reliable car. With forged internals. And it's a Shelby.

Of course I'd wait for the GT350 if I were you though...

Yeah if I can get it off in one piece it's his.

I'm still hung up on whether to keep my forge stars or not. The tires are brand new and the rims look much better... Damn it!

If you were to sell them, how much? Curious. I need wheels/tires like it's cool. Not a fan of the invo's, but maybe for the right price. My car is in the body shop getting the decklid glued back on btw lol.

My brother bought a used 1200 mile 2014 base Shelby. He loved the motor but the ride and axle hop were so bad he almost gave it back to the dealer after two weeks. He previously had a M3 V8.
I had him call Sam Strano. My brother is never going to see a track day so Sam told him just get a set of Koni Yellow as the springs are good.
My brother loved the car after this simple change.
Absolutely an intoxicating car. Congrats.
