Whiteline adjustable rear upper control arm adjustments?

About to order this control arm and heard go things about it. But was wondering on the adjustments and why you adjust for? What does it do the longer or shorter you make the arm? What's better?

You adjust it to correct your pinion angle.

What would the correct pinion angle be?

What other suspension mods do you have? LCA with brackets, camber bolts/plates, panhard bar/watts link, springs, shocks and struts?

If so, I'd suggest pay 100 bucks to a pro and let them align everything the way it should be.

Problem comes with measuring techniques and many opinions on optimum angle. If you have to have a number then -1.5 to - 3.0. The best way to install is to mimic the same angle that you have right now. Provided you are not experiencing pinion angle vibrations.
