Lower control arms

Happy new year guys!
So I am about to pick up some J&M lower control arms and someone had told me I needed to get relocation brackets.
Is this true?
Thanks guys!

Only if you're lowered.

If I chose to lower later, I'll need the relocation brackets?

What are the advantages of getting lca and upper together?
I know i can't stand the wheel hop on launches and i understand the LCAs are going to help with that.
Do I/should I get the upper control arms?

Lower control arms

Lca relocation brackets also give you "leverage" during the launch. It's called anti squat. Basically instead of the rear of your car squatting on launch, it will push the axle housing down, lifting the rear of the car, hitting the tires harder. Too hard and it will hop and break loose again though. Depends on springs, tires, etc.
