Need input on buying a 2013

http://www.stonehamford.com/detail-2...-13039791.html
Could those with knowledge and lots of miles give me some input on this car? I'm interested in it, at a lot lower price than this but wondering if the miles are too high? 55k. What should I check for when I take a look at it?
It seems to have base features but a power drivers seat and possibly leather?

From pictures, I see a few extra's he's added:

1. (looks like) TSW wheels, which are very nice. I know I bought the same ones in a different color. Very lightweight.
http://www.americanmuscle.com/matte-....html#shop-by4

2. GT500 spoiler - not my favorite, but nice
http://www.americanmuscle.com/painte...iler-1012.html

3. Exhaust tips APPEAR TO be different than stock, so I'm going to guess he's done some exhaust work.

4. He's had the seats recovered in probably some take offs from a Shebly GT500. They look nice.

5. I'd look under the hood to see if it has a stock airbox or aftermarket CAI. Based on other mods (and that it came with 3.73 gears), it PROBABLY doesn't have a stock box but who knows.

6. TUNE? ASK the dealer to let you know if it has or has ever had a tune on it. THEY KNOW, or can find out. You want to know. If its been tuned, then there's a lot of question marks about the vehicle... who owned it... did they daily drive it AND take it to the track every weekend to rack up that many miles in about 2 years?

Quote:
ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT

457 3.73 LIMITED SLIP REAR AXLE $395.00
I'm wondering about the 3.73 gears. Its a very basic (almost no options) car, but has the 3.73 gears which you usually see in track pack, brembo and/or recaro seat optioned cars, which kind of tells me someone may have ordered this car with taking it to the track in mind... cheap drag car.

But Its a nice looking car! If they say yes its been tuned... but are saying you still have 100% factory warranty... that might give you a loophole to tune the car, then if anything did actually happen to engine you could put back to stock tune and claim it was sold to you that way and warranty coverage was guaranteed anyway.

I think the price is too high for the miles it has on it. It is a nice looking car though I would feel better about it for around 22k..

Looks more stock which is a good thing when buying used. I mean its nice to get basically "free" mods, but you never know what else they did, why they did it, etc.

It's a nice looking car, but just has more miles than I'd like to see on a car that's 2 years old.
I bought my GT with 2,700 miles, TrackPak, Brembo pak, Recaro seats for less than $2000 more than the black Mod'd GT. Mine came with an Airaid CAI/SCT tuner already installed.
Not sure about your area, but out West their are some really nice low mileage 13/14 TrackPak cars for about the same price.

Aw crap. I didn't even think about it being a track car but now that you brought it up, I'm worried that might be the reason for the mileage and 3.73s.
Well, if it still has the factory airbox and I can get an honest answer about it having been tuned then that would be better. It's at a Ford dealer, so they should be able to hook it up and tell me.
How do I check to make sure the clutch is still decent? Is there any tell tale signs it's not good?

Do you have a trade in? Chances are they will skim you off over here, even if you got a deal on a GT. I'd suggest you look around and see how much the market price for a car like yours is.

You don't wanna throw it up for charity just cuz you want to drive a GT.

Oh and I forgot: ask your ford dealer to give you a copy of 'oasis/oscsr' report (not sure about the name. It will give you an idea if any warranty work has been performed on this car.

I'd be trading a 14 Taurus Limited, I know I'll lose a little there but I've been missing my GT. I had a 2011 that got away from me. I do have a lot of equity in the Taurus. I just don't want to get somebody else's track car or previously tuned or bad clutch.

That low miles red one with nice black wheels and Nav would be my choice.

Paid $26,900 for a premium with gps at 4.75%just depends on how you negotiate it. Plus the 2015 came out and theyre looking to get rid of the older models to make room for the new ones

So you bought it? Looks like a nice car with low miles! It is a great time to buy a 11-14 for sure!

I agree! Here in El Paso there is a ton for under 30K fully loaded! I took my 14 CS in for a oil change and they want me to trade in my car so bad, little do I know that the owner wants my car...

No way would I pay that much with that many miles on it. You can get a car with a lot less miles on it for about the same price. Keep looking is my opinion.

FYI - you can look up the sticker online (just update the VIN for each car you look at)
http://fordlabels.webview.biz/webvie...BP8CF7D5228019

You can see it was $32k new = $30k with Xplan pricing or good negociating skills

That means they only knocked off $5k for 55k miles = Not worth it.

You can add anything you want to these cars but you can't remove mileage.

Update:
[/B]

I drove 2 hours to see it and test drive it. Omg what a colossal piece of *****. I brought it back after less than 3 blocks. Previous owner ruined this car with shabbily added GT500 seats, badly installed. The chassis was lowered by monkeys with hammers for tools. This car shouldn't even bring $12k it was so bad.
I can't even tell you how sad it is that some kid obviously ruined a 2013!
Damn it, do you know how hard it is to find a nearly unmolested black 2011+ GT manual in all of New England!?
My 2011 that I stupidly sold had its flaws but I messed up bad trading it in.

Keep looking. Expand your search out another 100-150 miles. Yeah it would be great if carfax/autocheck gave age of previous owners. Expect the 18-28 year old crowd to be the norm unfortunately. Personally I would stay away from manual cars as those have greater chances of driveline abuse. Check for engine ticks too,

Kind of surprising, it looked pretty nice from the pictures. The seats looked ok. I liked the wheels (I'm partial to TSW's ) GT500 spoiler, while not my favorite spoiler is better than no spoiler or the stock skinny spoiler.(my fav is the camera spoiler)

I think all of us feel your agony, and most of us have been there before. Patience will win out, don't be in a hurry to find the right Mustang for you, let it come to you.
Try putting cPro Craigslist on your phone and also put Autotrader on your phone. With both of these apps you will be notified very quickly when a car is listed on either site.
One last piece of advise.............look for a used car at a new car dealer. As you described the car, I doubt it would have been on any reputable new car lot...........and maybe it was wholesaled off to this dealer from a new car dealer.
I bought mine from a Chevrolet dealer. The guy that had my Mustang with only 2700 miles traded it in on a new 14 Corvette. I was able to get them down $3000 from asking price and never sat foot in the dealership until we had agreed on a price and I was ready to sign and pay. I did take the car for a lengthy test drive first, but I couldn't have been more happy.
Also, do a little homework with the website that gives you sticker information and pricing, it really helps..............IMHO
