Welcome. I run the Roush phase 1 supercharger kit in my ‘14 GT / automatic / daily driver, Roush part number: 42188.

It’s been 6,500 miles since the install along with the Roush 91 octane (automatic) calibration with zero issues. I upgraded the stock cooling fan with the Ford Racing / GT500 fan, part number: M-8C607-MSVT

We are here in ATX and installed a Vortech V3 on this car on a weekend in our driveway. The package deal from TeamBeefcakeRacing.com had everything INCLUDING awesome custom remote tuning with Lund Racing, and an upgraded fuel system along with the supercharger. It looks and performs awesome.

This car put down 636.49 rwhp here in Austin on a dyno after the install and tune. Since that time, we added a "torque booster setup" which basically is a smaller pulley and a Tial Wastegate. The car puts down over 650 rwhp and 510 rwtq now and it is driven EVERY SINGLE DAY. No heat soak problems like you can see sometimes with other types of SC here in the Texas heat. Could not be happier with the choice we made.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did this cost you, everything included?

How difficult is the installation? Most I've ever done is headers and suspension work

If you can do headers, THIS install is a piece of cake. My son and I did it on jack stands in the driveway. Super easy.
Cost: 5500 initial
I bought the Beefcake Special with Extras: {paid cash so got a good discount}
Satin Black Vortech V3 Supercharger, MaxFlow Boost A Pump, Lund Remote Tuning,
Extras: JLT Performance Intake, Brisk Plugs, TBolt Clamps, TIAL 50mm BOV, Aluminum Coolant Tank.
Later added the Beefcake Torque Booster setup. Bought that for $525 brand new from a private seller who never installed it. I have just over 6K in this entire setup

What are your goals?

Lots will quickly push a kit without knowing what your goals are and what you truly want out of the car. What power levels are you looking to stay around? Are you wanting to "push the limits"? Or are you wanting a good HP DD car?

I really like Whipple and TVS PD blowers. The 2.3 TVS is pretty damn efficient and runs VERY cool compared to many others. Heat soak isn't a huge issue if you want to compare it towards a Centri. Both get robbed of power from heat, you'll notice that if you read the IAT's from either.

We do sell a lot of Roush kits and VMP kits over at Hypermotive. We sell quite a bit of Centri's as well but we don't push them as much as others.

I'm running the VMP stage 2 kit on my 2014 auto. It's a blast to drive. Plenty of power
On tap, no waiting to build
Boost its basically instant.

Huitt - Good question and just like Jay has said - What are your goals?

Are you planning to track the car (More than 3-5 times per year) Are you after bragging rights for time slips? Road Course? or just have something to scare people on the streets with and to bring a smile to your face?

I've had extensive seat time in centri charged cars (I had one on my '01) and I'm honestly really partial to the Vortech V3 - If you're on AnythingCoyote I'm sure you've seen Dan Bailers V3 Equipped 2011 and it's definitely my recommendation. The car is literally a handful of fun to drive but it's not "terrifying". Especially when you're not in Boost the car drives better than a stock 11-14, but it just sounds like a street sweeper!

I'll make sure Dan jumps on here when he gets in and he can elaborate on this as well as maybe getting you Remote Tuned down the road!

Hey Huitt,

Sounds like you're ready to take your Mustang to the next level. Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong. I had this exact same discussion with some of the guys here and some friends about what Blower to go with. I decided to go with the Vortech V3 for a few reasons.

1. They make great power.
2. They sound insane!
3. When you're driving the car out of boost it drives like a Stock Mustang.
4. I've driven roots style blower cars and it wasn't my personal favorite. When I wasn't in boost it didn't feel as "strong" as my current set up.

You can go with a Roots style, Vortech/Paxton or TT kit and you're going to absolutely fall in love with your Mustang again. Just make sure you get all of the supporting mods! ID1000's, Plugs, BAP etc.

I hope this helps. Let Alex and/or myself know if you have any questions at all and we'll be happy to help you out!

-Dan

Texas is KIND OF a big state. You might want to "state" (pun intended) your city as well.

That's not fair. He's just giving feedback on what has worked for him. Something we all can be accused of myself included.
