Update, switched from 14 Taurus to 14 GT

I previously owned a 2011 GT base model, manual. I somehow had this weird idea that it wasn't ideal for me, my age, comfort preferences etc, plus it had some minor flaws. The windshield was heavily pitted, the front had some paint flaws and chips that drove me crazy. It still looked, drove and sounded amazing. I couldn't stop for gas without comments and questions about it every single time. It's sort of juvenile but it made me feel good when that happened.
So, weird decision. I switched to a new 14 Taurus Limited with an SHO appearance package. It looked nice too, just like an SHO, all black and every possible option. Heated cooled front and rear seats, Nav, auto high beams, camera, remote start. No key entry and start, you just touch the door handle and it unlocks. It sensed the exterior temp and automatically heated the steering wheel, turned on and off defrost and seats.
*I was bored. I didn't enjoy driving. Going to work was just a mindless 25 minutes of comfort and dullness.
Skipping over the insanity of a solid month trying to find another black GT 2011 or newer, with manual and at least Sync and a power seat *that also wasn't ruined or molested by the previous owner.... I found one- 2014 with 12k miles.
*Now... This morning, -5 degrees out, getting up for work at 5am....I couldn't wait to get into the Mustang, hear the 5.0, shift through the gears and now, looking forward to the ride home.
Looking forward to adding my own personal touches and tasteful mods.
Looking at everyone else's Mustangs on here and not being jealous and ashamed that I let mine slip away.
This car is a motor.... Just a massively awesome motor with some sheet metal around it, and I couldn't be happier!

2014 is the best of the best, no doubt. I still look forward to driving mine every morning to work 16 months after buying it.

What is this, "At my age" nonsense. You're just a young pup!
Before buying the 14 Mustang I actually looked at Z06's, and the only problem is that once I fell into the seat someone had to help me out of the car..................I'm 70 and having this Mustang is just a ton of fun although at times getting in and out of the Recaro's can be a little hard on this ole body.............I look forward to driving the Mustang and with the 3.73's it's just perfect for driving around town..................it doesn't get any better.................I agree!

I had the same experience, went from a 2010 SHO (hence the screen name) to a '14 GT. I enjoyed the ecoboost V6, but it didn't have any excitement to it... The mustang just feels raw, in a good way, that keeps me engaged for my hour commute.

Now I just have about 5 more hours and I can drive it again

Plus I know that motor will last. Even looking inside the oil filler cap, you see this massive chain.
I beat the heck out of many CVPI Ford V8s and they all did fine, just a little valve rattle after 100k miles.
My first one was like the one below, 1991 5.0 carbureted! Fuel injection was available but the agency saved money buying carbed models. Then I had many many 4.6s I missed the big chrome bumpers! They were tanks!

Missing my 14 GT

I agree with all the testimony about the joy of driving the 2014 GT. I am in my mid-sixties and have previously owned a '73 and a '98 - all convertibles. With the 2014, I have set out to improve on the already awesome OE version that I ordered with the Brembo package and 3.73 gears, by adding mods to each system to incrementally improve performance. I added a Edelbrock supercharger with a dyno tune, Roush injectors, Borla catback exhaust, boost-a-pump, Granatelli coil packs, a Barton short shifter, style bar and wind screen, TSW Vortex wheels, and a Laser Jammer. I has been incredibly fun to feel the fun level rise with each mod. I have a few more in mind. This car is amazing.

Wheels and you're good to go in my book! I would even for the fog light delete on the grille and run open holes or plates for the boos look. I almost did that with mine.
