How do I get to top of rear shocks

This might be a dumb question, but I've never had to deal with anything like this myself before. I have this horrible squeaking coming from inside the trunk and it only happens while giving it a fair amount of gas or going over small bumps. I've seen similar posts saying check the pan hard bar, exhaust mounts, ect but Ive driving with my backseat down just to see and I'm almost positive it's coming from the trunk.

With all that said, how do I get to the top of the rear shocks because something must be lose and I wanna get back there and check. I don't trust ford driving my car trying to replicate the noise or just the shear fact that they'll just shrug and say they have no idea. Thanks

in my 02, you have to remove the carpet. inside the trunk, you should see two humps in the floor above the wheels, usually they are mounted from there and cosmetically obstructed by the carpet. but i dont think anything will be loose, as much as just needs oil. still safer to check. but grab a can of white lithium grease and start lubin up different bushings, especially the rear sway bar and such.

Pull the fabric back on the side of the trunk and you'll see them. Sounds like your shocks could be toast.

That would be unfortunate since its been doing this since I got the car with 15k miles on it a year ago
