11-12 GTs run different torque converters than 13-14s?

I read a post from mike rousch awhile ago on svt forum saying that 11-12 GTs consistently run better 60ft times as compared to 13-14s. He said the best he has seen on our newer GTs with stock converters is 1.81, as compared to 1.6x. I looked into it a bit and 11-12gts do in fact have a different part number for converters from ford.

Since there is a difference in 60ft times (as reported my mike), would it be safe to say both of these converters also have different stall? And if 11-12 GTs get to the power band quicker due to a different converter?

The change took place in mid 2014 so they're the same from 2011-mid 2014. The best 60ft you'll get with a stock converter is 1.8x but that's only under the perfect conditions and perfect setup.

Oh cool, thanks for the info. But it still baffles me why do ford have different part numbers on stock converters for 2011-12 and 13-14 if they're exact same thing?
