Stock MT 82 shifter question

Ok so I will probably get flamed for this but......

Has anybody or does anybody know how to take the stock shifter apart? I hate the soft spring on the reverse lockout. I am wanting to know if anybody has put a stiffer spring in it.
I know it has to come apart....
Thanks, Bill

the reverse lockout spring is internal in the shifter, which I don't believe is something that can even be taken apart

Tried to turn what I thought was a cap on the billet piece. It is the one that has two small holes in the top. It did not move. I wish you could remember what you did.
The way i see it, its winter and I am driving it that much anyway, so why not screw with the shifter.

First i am tight with a dollar, second my problem is not missing gears its the light spring on the reverse lockout. I wish I could test a few and see if there is any difference in the springs.

look at the mgw site for how to put in theirs...after removing boot/knob/center console you will be able to access 4 allen bolts that hold the shifter together.

I will say Crazy's offer is more than fair. My lockout was great but I've read people had different opinions on spring strength and I THINK there were variations. The reverse lockout on my MGW is too hard but that's way better than the alternative
