Wider Tires - Lowering Issues?

Recently installed a pair of stock GT Premium wheels size 18x10 wrapped in Mickey Thompson 305/35 Street Radials. If I go with a 1.5" drop all around, will this cause rubbing issues on the inside of the fender walls?

I was told by one mechanic that a 1.5' inch drop to the rear on this size tire will cause a rubbing issue in the inside walls going through dips, bumps, etc. (not the outside fender)

Thanks in advance!

Just get the right offset. And FYI there are no fender lips to get in the way on these cars unlike in the past.

They have a 7.3" backspacing...wheels are from American Muscle. Will a 1.5" drop still work?

You shouldn't have any problems. Post up a link to the wheels when you get a chance.

It all depends on the wheel offset

No such thing as stock 18x10. Everything is like, 7" to 9.5" wide, with most being 8.5"-9.0".

The only "stock" 10" wide tires I think are the rears on the Laguna Seca Boss 302.
