Windshield crack or scratch?

On December 3rd 2014 I had safelite replace my windshield. Last night I noticed a small horizontal line on my windshield over night it got a little bigger. Could this be a stress crack? I can't see how the wipers did it because it's horizontal.

If you can, post a clear picture of the crack.

It's very hard to see in a picture. It's actually another 2 inches longer then what you see in the picture. It keeps getting bigger.

I can't see the crack in the photo.

If it was caused by a rock or something, there will be a noticeable point of impact somewhere along the crack.
After a careful examination, if you can't find any evidence of an impact, I would take it back to the installer and have them look at it.

Was there any "defects of labor or materials" warranty of any sort?

There is a warrant for life against workmanship and materials. They're coming out Saturday but I have a feeling they're going to say it's not there fault.

If they say that it was caused by a stone chip, have them show you where they believe that the point of impact is.

Windshield crack or scratch?

I did not buy the car new but I did not have a problem with my last windshield besides the stone chip. I live in New Jersey and the temperature has been changing rapidly I'm not sure if that can cause a slight crack. I have safelite coming out Saturday. I'm going to have to get a new windshield I don't want to come out one morning to giant crack. Plus it's very annoying when driving.

I wanted to give an updated. Safelite did replace the windshield for free. But they scratched my dash pad! Now I have to wait again for someone to come out and look at it.
