Tune?

I'm new to this completely as I originally thought "my mustang has enough power already I don't need more" when I bought the car but now I'm looking more into this. I was wondering if I needed new injectors since AM recommended this, but I've never heard of anyone needing to do this first. Also was looking into the Bama Sf4/x4 tuner that a lot of people have as it is the most generic one. I've read some people don't like Bama or AM's tuning but I'm not trying to get that much out of a tune I just want to "wake the engine up" like everyone says

I think you will find that having a tuner, even a can'd tune like the ones that come with the tuner when you buy it will certainly wake the motor up.
I bought my 14 GT/TrakPak car used with 2700 miles and it came with a CAI/Tuner........the original owner bought it as package from Summit Racing. When I test drove the car it was really strong..........a lot stronger than some of the other Mustangs I had test driven. When I bought the car the tuner was in the trunk. I had to take the car into a Ford dealer for some maintenance work so I took the tune out..........and it wasn't the same car, it just felt sluggish. When I put the tune back in it was like a night and day difference.
Don't bother buying a CAI, just get a tuner and go from there. Once you have the SCT tuner you always get tunes from some of the shops that people on this site rave about, and it's as easy as an email to download the special tune from your computer to the SCT tuner.
I don't know about the injectors and I'm sure more knowledgeable people than myself will answer that one.

Just the fact A/M told you you needed injectors should tell you everything you need to know about them. Always out to sell unneeded parts.

No you don't need injectors unless E85 is in your future and definitely go somewhere else for a better tune.

Hey Eric,

Thanks a lot for taking the time to post this up - First and foremost we owe you an apology on this and it sounds like you definitely received wrong information on this as we all know that the OEM injectors are more than enough! I'd like to dig a little bit more into this and I'm shooting you a PM on this right not but I just wanted to let everyone know that we're not sales driven here nor are we commission based in any way! If we have customers that want to put parts on their car that we know wont yield better gains we'll be very upfront about this.

Sorry about this again but take a look at your PM's and get back to me when you can.

Alex

Maybe somebody thought he had an older Fox body 5.0. Bigger injectors were one of the first things needed.

Hey - That very well could've been the case and I'm 100% sure that there was a large miscommunication on our end. Our Customer Service Representatives are trained on site here and this is very common info here! I can't stress it enough that we're not pressure salesmen and we are in no way commission based! I could help sell an Aluminator engine or a set of quarter window decals and it wont change what I bring home at the end of the week. Again - We will not sell someone parts if we know they're not going to benefit the customer or the vehicle.
