H pipe is more of a rumble, like an old school muscle car. X pipe is more raspy...especially without cats.

I'm in the same boat as you and I think I'm going to do an h pipe. Keep the muscle car sound.

I did catless X and as far as rasp, I do believe the axlebacks will have alot to do with the degree of rasp. I have zero rasp. Very deep and loud cold start aswell as low rpms, Seems to lighten up in the higher rpm range.

I'm also not a big fan of the classic muscle car sound. I prefer the exotic sound of an x with straight-throughs.

What if you had a resonator deleted GT500 axleback? Would you keep the cats or delete them? Would the h pipe be better in that circumstance? I'm just worried that because I don't have the resonators, that deleting the cats would make it sound like garbage...

Do your gt500s rasp without the resonators? Either way get a pair of race bullets when you get rid of your cats - off road loudness without the rasp.

Hey Orellana,

I think I replied to this in another one of your threads also but just in case I'll say it again!

I am a huge fan of the JBA H-Pipe personally as it can be installed post cats, but also with the included cat-delete-pipes.

I ran one personally on my previous 2012 GT and absolutely loved it.

It installed easily (I ran it as the off-road setup), sounded great, and picked up a nice amount of power!

Hope this helps and let me know if you have any questions!

-Will

I've got a catted H pipe, resonator deletes, and Gt500 axle backs. The popping raspy sound only comes I'm in in low gear and let the revs come down when I'm not on the gas. I think I'll put the resonators back on eventually but the H pipe did make it a little louder and deeper, which is nice.

I'm surprised to see so many people go with the H-pipe. I for sure thought the X-pipe was more popular. Anyone comparison videos of the two?
