Tapping in to dome light

I'm adding led footwell lights. I looked around and it seems the only source is coming from the a pillar. I have the auto dimming mirror so there are two seperate wiring harnesses. I also read some where that the I can tap in to auto shift light source but I have a manual. Can some one point me in the right direction. I want my footwells to turn on and off along with my dome lights. I did it to my wife's 13 camaro and I tapped in to a wire from the bcm.

Yeah I took a test light to it. Make sure you get the one that dims after the door is shut. I did the same thing. Then there is a good ground location right above the fuse box you can use.

I do not have the auto dim rear view mirror.

Can I still use the Yellow / Green wire??

Where is that wire located please??

Can I find that wire near the passenger side fusebox without having to remove the A-pillar?

I have a pair of the factory OEM lighted rocker panels that light up and say MUSTANG that I got from a 2014 Mustang that had them. I am guessing the plug for that is not already under the carpet and that I will have to tap into a wire that goes to the dome light.

Thanks for the help!

I believe it is the green/yellow wire. I think u can tap into the mirror harness if u have 7 wires running into your mirror.

It was not the yellow and green wire. It was the purple and brown wire so it can dim along with the dome lights
