They've been known to have a lot of timing in them. Not something I'd consider running.

Kay. One last question. Sense imma have to wait alittle to have extra money to get that custom tune. Can I just use the pre loaded tune now, then later just install the custome tune? Just really anxious on using this tuner

I could post logs from Bama that would make you think again but everytime I say anything negative about them I get a threatening P.M. from a moderator. I guess it's all about the almighty dollar.

It tells me MPT still has some growing to do. Although in the 3.7 world, they seem to be king.

Hey meno1994,

Good question here - SCT makes a great product but for what you're getting literally right off the shelf there's a considerable amount left on the table that's not being utilized!

Bama just released their V2 tunes for the 05-15 Mustang GT and they literally rip! If you're wondering what they're all about take a look below.

Considering that you already have the device if you'd like to get enrolled Free of charge I'm sure I can have that set up. If you're interested just let me know and we'll get you grinning in no time!

Alex

This makes me so excited for my headers. Alex real quick how long have the v2s been around? Are my header tunes from a few weeks ago v2?

I'm bringing this thread back up I have had the pre loaded sct x4 tune on my 2014 stock gt for a year and a half with no issues. I've been 11.92 @113.7 mph There's a lot of so called custom tuned cars that I've embarrassed. Just figured I'd share.

That's a touch soft on the mph for that ET. You automatic?

I did 11.91 at 115 on the supposedly weak Procal on my stick car so, I understand. Everything else on the engine was stock and the car was full weight, fully loaded.

You might be fine running the SCT preloaded tune but if some of the well informed guys on here have data logs or proof that its not the safest way to go, you should just wait. I didn't catch if you were an Auto or manual so that will also play a roll in who might be a better choice for your set up. Bama isn't the only tuner who will update your tune for FREE so don't make that the reason for settling with any tuner. I have Bama & Mike Roush but only run the MR tune just because of the advice from the more experienced members and my research on Mike. I am yet to take the car to the track and see what tune does better. The MR tune seems to shift better.

Mine is a stick also. My car is completely stock except for the sct x4, roush axlebacks, upr upper and lower control arms, and hoosier qtp tires. Full weight stock air box everything 60ft 1.59. That procal tune must not be that bad if your mph is 115. These cars only trap 111-112 stock

Track location (elevation), time of year, weather DA, quality of fuel, tuning, car setup, car maintenance....a lot of factors will determine a cars trap speed or ET. Next...

They told me my 15k mile car has a slipping transmisson because their tunes were causing it to slip at redline, and no matter how many datalogs i did, they couldn't get it fixed. I even offered to drive to them, i am in florida, and offered to drive to PA since i would be in the general location of the states. they told me no lol.

I have a 13 GT, vmp will be doing my tuning

I know this thread is a zombie, but I was interested in the subject so maybe others are too. I ran a canned SCT tune for quite a while after a gear swap, and since both changes were made at the same time it was hard to know how weak that tune was. Just drove the car the first time this morning with a VMP tune (first pass no data logging yet) and it is much smoother and crisper and it certainly pulls harder at higher RPMs. Seems like mileage will be much better too which makes sense I suppose. Data log this weekend and I'm sure it will be perfect, and i'll think I have plenty of power, for a while.

BAMA claims 50 HP gain on the new Rev-X Tuner by SCT. I own the SF3 model which back then was good for 30 HP. Can the performance Tune for the Rev-X be used on the SF3?

Just curious about the comments on this. I only got a 20 HP gain on my Tuner when I first uploaded to the car. I would assume that the 50 HP is too good for the eye but could worth the try if it gets me above 20 HP.

I have used the SCT canned tunes on a 2.0 and 2.3 Ecoboost motors along with tunes for these motors from Steeda and Unleashed. The initial tunes from all three are the same power wise by the butt dyno. Once you do some logging the Steeda and Unleashed revised tunes make considerably more power.

The only down side to the SCT tune is driveability, the throttle response was very sensitive.

Canned tunes in general are going to be very conservative whether they are from SCT, Diablosport, Superchips, etc. When buying the tuning device it is best to buy it from a tuner, you will generally get a custom tune included with the device for the same price as just buying the device.
