Loping idle

Is there a tuner that I can get the lope with my cats on? I feel like my borla ataks might be too loud with an o/r. I know ford does it but I didn't know if anyone else does

Every tuner that is going to be suggested here requires NO cats for their loped idle tune. And several will not trouble shoot issues your car may have. They consider the cam tune to be a novelty.

I have flowmaster out laws and hpipe no cats with lope. Instant Viagra.

Yea but you have to remove the cats. That's why I said only the FRPP tune cause the op wants to keep his cats.

Me too.

The reason I think tuners recommend no cats, b/c the lopey idle runs rich, which there's some fuel running in to the cats & getting burned up.... and could overheat/burn up the cats.

While I think its cool to have sometimes. I wouldn't want to deal with the added trouble of having to let the engine warm up before driving it. If only there was a push button active, that you could turn it on while driving when you wanted to.

If only tuners could access that "S" mode, and install a different tune on that.

I'd love a mild sport tune on the "D" mode,
then maybe a lopey idle and most aggressive / sport setting with super hard & delayed (higher rpm) shift points on the "S" mode.

Yea I'm going to get an O/r H hopefully within the next month or so but I don't always use the lopey idle cause I get awful gas mileage when I use it.

Is it possible to get a more "lopey" idle by decreasing your idle rpm settings. I noticed on my X4 there was an option to adjust the rpm's it idles at so I was considering if I decreased the current settings a few hundred rpm's if it would give it a similar sound. Any thoughts?

They make the cam lope by adjusting the cam timing, not the idle rpm. Adjusting that won't do anything.

Ok, so if I'm requesting a new tune do I just let the guys(I use Steeda) know I'd like that or is there specific mods required? I was considering purchasing the boss exhaust cams on AM, is that a solid buy or is it a waste of time?

Waste of time if that's all you're planning on doing.

Well what would you recommend planning on doing so that I'm not wasting my time?

If you're going to stay NA and want to do the cams I would say to get the boss intake manifold as well. In doing that though, you're moving the power band into the higher RPMs. Take a look at JPC, I believe he's got some pretty good cams at a good price. I'm not an expert on this, I'm just going off of what I've read here.

Thought the track key was only for 7/1/13 mustangs and up? Read somewhere it's not available for cars made before then. Mine was assembled in May instead of July.

There's actually a tuner working on a lope idle tune designed for people with cats. I believe it's Luis ortiz. There was a guy on the anything coyote related Facebook page talking about it recently.

A cammed GT500 can have a lot of lope...unlike a cammed 5.0. Soooo...

You can put bigger cams in almost any car.

1.) Automatic and 2.) ability to do a cam tune (not physical cam install). Have not heard of any GT500 cam tunes myself. Please enlightened us all...

Yes that is true but your question was does anyone know if I can get the tuner. The answer was answered and it is YES. The FRPP track cal. It's for ALL 2013 and 2014 manual cars.

Would you know why FRPP will tune in the lopey idle with Cats when no one else will?

Imo because ford has all the data at their disposal, they made the thing. Plus the frpp piece doesn't make near the peak hp as the aftermarket tunes. Mostly the frpp tune isn't as rich I suppose to ruin the cats.

The reason they recommend no cats is because the lopey/cam tune dumps more fuel at idle. The better tuners minimize this to a point, but it is what it is. This is hard on 02's and cats. fyi

Yes I know the lopey idle is rich and dumps fuel causing CAT probs, I just didn't know why FRPP would do it knowing about this,..maybe that's why they also allow you to turn the lopey idle on and off lol,,,thanks bro

Yeah, probably why FRPP tune doesn't make near as much power like Zinc and you say, as the other tuners and even allows a setting to turn the lopey idle off and on,,thanks bro
