18x8 rear tire question

I was curious, I kept the stock 18" tires on my new wheels. When its time for new tires how wide could I safely go for the rear tires or are the stock ones already there?

255/45r18 is the widest tires you'll want to put on the stock wheels.

I put a 255/45/18 mickey thompson street comp on my factory 18x8 wheels. It is just under the 235/50/18 tire height.

Stock is like 27.25 tall and the 255/45 are about 27.04 tall. So pretty dang close

255 doesn't seem that much wider. Do they look better? Any pics?

That's the widest I could go on a stock 18x8 factory wheel. Imo it looks tons better. I don't have any current pics to post.
