Yessir. And removing the old one....as gently as possible lol. Hopefully it comes off without damaging the trunk. Thought about leaving it black because of the color matching, but I can't be going around looking like everyone else! Lol

All in all, buying 2 panels, and 3 trips to the body shop, I'll have spent damn near 800$ on this blasted unicorn...yeah. I don't say that to brag, I say it in embarrassment, and disgust lol. I fell in love with the white-out look out back. Previous body shop really made the rear of the car look like crap after time between the GT500 wing and the RTR lid. Here's hoping this other guy can get it right.

The original sheet metal decklid from RTR was actually rusting my trunk....the new one is prepped and ready to be painted. My trunk has to be sanded and prepped to get rid of the rust. This whole ordeal was an expensive headache. Hopefully have the car back soon.

Lol true story. Had panel bond on it, this was the only way. And in the process, created rust on the trunk itself. A whole big project now...what a mess lol

Yep. I mean who knows what would've happened if the original decklid was prepped properly, but I'm glad I purchased the plastic version. I've spent wayyyyy too much money on this project lol

Entire trunk had to be redone due to rust. In the garage she goes until Wednesday. Entire trunk sanded, prepped, and painted for 300$ with spoiler. No room at the body shop, and she wasn't gunna sit outside like this.

God I hope so lol. The wing had to be redone, the paint was actually yellowing...I'm going to have a few choice words with my "old" body guy when this is done. The fact my actual trunk was rusting because of this is despicable.

Few more updates. Trunk will be back on Friday now because it's supposed to rain on Thursday.

It is. And it's all because the body shop thought they could take short cuts. I'll be happy when this is done.

So did they paint your decklid with the spoiler still attached?

No, it was all separated, painted, then put back together.

Mint. Big shout out to Fatboyz Kustoms in West Springfield, MA. Very happy with the final product. This guy actually gave a crap about what he was doing. Fitment is spot on with the plastic version and all that was needed was the double sided tape to keep it on there, and not glue like the last fool did...which is why the trunk rusted. Finally done and over with

Just stumbled on this, Beautiful car man! also if you were still debating painting your roof, I recommend a high gloss black, it'll make it look like you have a glass roof, especially with the white.

Thanks bro, I appreciate the kind words. Yeah, I'm still tossing around the idea. Maybe in the spring.

Ohhh she's beautiful. I'm sure as with you, it would be really hard to part with this car. It's such a likable car inside and out. I've had them all, and this is by far my favorite car to drive. Getting a truck though would mean savings, not needing a winter beater....tough decisions lol:
