Now I can actually work on the car out of the elements. I did my entire suspension in a thunder storm underneath a tent 😬

It wasn't raining when I started and once I start something I have to finish it lol.

Eric's 2014 Mustang GT build thread

OP > You can be proud of what you've done. Did you do most by yourself? Hmm, a white pony car. Maybe it will grow on me.
My name is Eric, as well. My build thread is in my ME Garage . Just completed BBK tuned length header install, titanium wrapped, and swapped to Steeda adjustable polyu motor mounts at .5 in lower. At my door tomorrow should be my MRT rear louvers. That's it! Done until I save enough for a supercharger. I get to memorize install videos until then-----

Thank you very much, I'd like to think she's a bit set apart from the rest of the stable lol. And yes, my best friend and I have done all of the work thus far. He's quite mechanically savvy and has every tool in the book so I won't take but a little bit of the credit lol. All on jack stands too might I add, what a pain in the butt lol. Sounds like you have quite the build yourself good sir, I will have to check it out. Thanks again for the kind words

Mikey, I love OW as well. Grabber blue was actually my first choice but one, I couldn't find any new ones because I believe hey discontinued the color after 2013, and two, I saw the white and fell in love. The front is an 19x8.5 +30 offset and the rears are 19x10 +35 offset. I haven't determined the size of the tires I'll go with as of yet, but I'm pretty set on Toyo R888's. That's subject to change. And yes, I agree, the car needs a more stand out wing. The GT500 is a little played out in my opinion, but it is still VERY nice. We'll see what pops into my head for that in the spring lol.

I wanted white but couldn't find one in my area new. So I ended up with black. Let's just say I hate it because Colorado Springs has been rough on the paint.

The calm before the storm. This garage will become my new home soon in a few weeks as I will be ordering the Vortech V3 "beefcake special" complete kit tomorrow. I've been wanting to purchase this kit since I bought the car 2 years ago. Myself and a buddy of mine will be doing the install with provided tunes from Jon Lund that are included with the kit. Shortly there after I will take the car to a reputable tuner shop and dynotune the car to iron everything out.

I'm open to any suggestions, advice, or tips from any of you fine gentlemen and women who have purchased this kit. I'll be a sponge and hopefully I can pick some great knowledge from some of your brains lol.

Quick question on the tune, why wouldn't you run Lund tune and just do a data log and get an email revision vs a tune by a local guy who doesn't have a reputation like Lund?

Congrats on the kit by the way. I'm jealous.

That's essentially the plan initially. I have a few reputable vortech specific tuners each about 2 hours away out here, but I'll most likely play it by ear as to see if I like the Lund tunes, if they're healthy, etc. Then if for some reason the logs don't look right, I may take it on an actual dyno. My whole thing was I definitely did not want the vortech tune they send with the kit. I'm sure the Lund tunes will be more than great, I'm just used to getting my cars actually "protuned" on a dyno.

will definitely be looking forward to this. i want to supercharge mine. cant afford a turbo setup.

is there any reason you choose vortech instead of a screw type or either procharger.

thanks again for letting us follow along the build of a masterpiece.

I went vortech over a twin screw because I wanted that gradual power bump, like a turbo. Not that instant hit of tq from a roots as I don't have any plans to forge the motor and/or do any tranny work in the near future. My buddy also swears by his vortech so he kinda swayed my opinion.

And you're quite welcome, I enjoy all the feedback as well as constructive criticism from you fine gents. Expect more updates soon

That's all stuff from the kit? Just trickling in like that? Or you ordered that stuff separately?

It's the kit trickling in. Some items are coming from beefcake, some are coming from the manufacturer.

I ordered this today to be able to monitor boost in addition to the Nguage many vital statistics. Now I realize the Nguage does monitor boost but I'll be using that for data logging and vitals such as oil temp, AIT's, etc.
