Nitrous on 2013 5.0L?

I am thinking about purchasing the Nitrous Outlet Plate System from AM prices at $799.99 with capability of jets from 50HP to 250HP. Is this mod safe for my Coyote running a stock motor and only using it at the Strip? See below for all mods on my car.

JBA Headers / H Pipe / Outlaws
4.10's
BBK Lower Arms
BAMA Tune
20X10.5 Rear Wheels

Will also buy better spark plugs with the Nitrous Kit for better Performance.

You'll want a nitrous tune also

1. Idk why nitrous outlet advertise it as up to a 250 shot.
A 250 is stupid through a plate.
2. Will need a purge
3. Bottle heater
4. Window switch assuming your a manual
5. Better have suspension and tires in check 100% spraying with 4.10s and able to rev to take advantage of them.
6. tune

^^^ Rap has the nitrous down. Your going to need a good tire to hook 4.10's on the spray. On the street good luck in the lower gears without a heated bias ply.

I have Nitto Invos 275/35/20 with the lower control arms to help me with some grip. The car grips with no spin after a short burnout. I'm not jamming the foot on the ground during the launch. Car runs 12.205

Darn. Rapinator126, you seem to be very knowledgeable about mods and cars, you respond to all my ads. Maybe you can help me more as my knowledge on Nitrous is at 1%.

1. I got the wrong offset on my wheels (they look good anyways). I am unable to drop the car because the wheels stick out about 1/4 in. What street tire do you recommend as radials will probably look ridiculous being that they run so wide.

2. When I think of Nitrous I think of "Fast and the Furious" movies . Will the window switch help me control when I can engage the nitrous, like the cool button on the steering wheel from the movie?

3. What is a Purge?

4.Can Bama provide a Tune to use Nitrous?

5. I shift right at 6,500 RMP to prevent redlining as I always happen to jam the 5th gear 100 to 150 yards out of the finish line so I would like to only inject the Nitrous 1st-3rd or 4th.

1. Street tire and nitrous will never work. Look for a drag radial. NT05Rs or mickey street radial 2's.

2. A window switch controls rpms of when the nitrous is engaged say 3500-6800

3. A purge is what clears all the air out of the lines, controls bottle pressure

4. Yes they can. Question is how much are you looking to spray?

5. You can do this also with a progressive switch.

Street tires will not be a good idea. Look into a set of different rear wheels to swap over for the track.

You can run a 150 on a stock motor and be good

Roger, Roger....What is the best kit for my 5.0? I see that the one at AM does not include the purge kit or the Window switch., they are sold separately. Do you recommend AM to get everything?

One last thing. What is the difference between the nozzle and plate system? I understand there is a spacer for the throttle body on the plate system. What do you recommend?

I recommend a plate. A nozzle is good depending on how much you plan on spraying. You can run into distribution problems once you start getting over a 100 shot on a nozzle.

A plate kit gives a more even flow and are good for at least a 200 shot. Anything over that, then distribution problems.

I prefer a wet kit.
Now a dry kit is good also, just make sure you have the extra fuel for it.

Which kit is it? Cheaper is not the best route to take with nitrous

My car is stock so it runs on the same factory fuel injectors and looking to mainly run 100 shot.

Check into Dynotune nitrous. You can do a wet nozzle kit (coyote specific kit) with gauge, bottle warmer, and purge for $720. Can't beat that for 150 shot or less.

I think I like the Plate systems better but to tell you the truth I don't know what to get. This is only for track use. Need the best advise.

Dry or wet?
Nozzle, Plate, Direct Port?

Wet, plate kit.

Direct port is only needed for 200 +

Just so we're double sure clear here:

You will incorporate the cost of a nitrous specific tune into your budget, right? There is NO shot you can safely run on a Coyote without a tune.

This isn't 1988 anymore and we're just going to choke off the return line on the fuel rail and call it good.

Being that this is my 1st kit ever. Shouldn't I use a dry kit since they are more user friendly? I keep reading that this is the best place to start.

@Raptinatpr126 and others, Ive been on the coyote plate system w/100 shot and looking to bump it up. Ill be installing Comp N/A stage 3 cams soon, then planing on having it tuned with a 150 shot. Do you think the motor could safely take a 200 shot? If you used a progressive controller (NX Maximizer 4) to ease the hit? What about progressive and dedicated fuel cell w/c16 race gas for the 200 shot?

Build: Boss I/M, 3.73 gears, bbk longtubes & high flow catted X, Barton short throw, NX plate, Cobra jet springs, 275/60-15 Mickey Street ET on Race Stars, Cam, custom tune, and maybe progressive controller.

Not sure the cams are going to be worth the time and expense, especially with a shot. Anything 150 and up should be direct port at least and certainly dedicated fuel won't hurt, on this car.
