Map lights stopped working while installing door sills.

I picked up the illuminating door sills and the map lights stopped working. The door will would not light back up. I disconnected the battery during the install. Why wires were a little different that what the instructions said. They really need to add the 2014 model to the list in the instructions. But I checked the fuses and everything. Everything else works. I ended up installing the sills any way because I needed new ones but they are not connected to light up.

Which wire did you tap for positive? I did mine and I used the grey/purple and it works like a champ. I used a test light as I had the same problem you had with the wire colors on my 14

Yeah I tapped into the gray and purple but they didn't light up.

Took it to the ford dealer at about 2pm today and they close at 830pm. This dude tells me if I got here and 800am he could have looked at it for me. I said really. He said they are still working on cars from this morning. I said man you guys slow. He said no we just get a lot of business. I look at the area with the cars they had and it was three car there and they had about six bays open doing work. I said so no one will be done from now until 800.

He was like it would just be better if you come Monday. I said no I'll pass. I'll be gone for nine months on Tuesday so I'll just wait. This is the same BS dealer they said they couldn't paint my cobra jet louvers because there paint wouldn't stick to them. I swear people are lazy in this town.

Did you use those splice type connectors? I'm wondering if you just cut the wire and it's not connected inside the connector causing the map lights not to work along with the sills? Just a thought.

You're joking. The paint wouldn't stick to them? An actual Ford dealership told you that? I'd call up Ford corporate and give them a heads up. Don't expect them to give a damn. But that's what I would do.
