Steeda spring help

Ok so I pulled the trigger on some Steeda springs today on eBay. I have been looking at getting a set of the sport springs because I like the fact it doesn't slam the car and reviews state the ride is better than stock (I have been beat to death by lowing springs in the past and I can't do it again). I have had great experiences with Steeda in the past so it just made sense. All that said the springs I got are 555-8216 which when I google it I get the sport springs to pop up. But in the pictures of the ones I bought...

Vs the ones pictured on the AM site...

They look a little different. The rears of the ones I bought look progressive as they have a portion of the springs tightly wound and a portion that's not. While the ones pictured on AMs site don't. Is that just a stock photo or are they different? The ultralights look more like the ones I bought but I believe that part number is 555-8226? Any help would be appreciated. Either way I'm excited to get them but I just want to know what I actually got.

The pics of what you got match up to those directly from Steeda for their Sport springs with that p/n.

Not sure why AM has a different pic, but I would say "straight from the horse's mouth" so to speak is a better indicator.
Looks like your on track.

That's the thing about the warranty though. 100 bucks says they won't just ship you put a brand new set for free if it's not what they advertised on their ad. You're gonna get stuck paying shipping to them for the old ones going back and shipping from them for the new ones. Plus a re-stocking fee and god knows what other kind of bs fees they throw at you. Good luck getting anything covered or warrantied through an eBay company.

The place that sold the springs is a junk yard, so I'm sure they just have that warranty prefilled. I can't see needing a warranty on springs.

I installed Steeda sport this week. The rears are 100% not progressive.

The picture is what looks like a set of Ultralites. The set is progressive and ride height in the rear will be a little higher than the sports. I have heard there used to be progressive set of sports with the same ride height as the linear spring rate sports. The color is making me wonder if this is an older set of sport progressive. Being a wrecking yard are they used? Maybe just the angle of the picture but the front spring on the right side looks like it is compressed lower than the left one where the noise dampner is missing.

Color does look different perhaps. Older models? Don't know. Maybe TJ from Steeda will chime in.

I'm sorry. I guess I didn't clarify what I was saying. All I was saying is that if they give you something other than what they advertised that they have the 120 day warranty. That's all.

Ha! Pics of sports and ultra-lites are the same.
I read somewhere that there is a linear and a progressive version of the Sports.
I think 555-8216 is progressive and 555-8215(?) was linear.
If I'm correct then, then that's what you may have.

cant use pics of springs as a reference, too easy for vendors to use a generic picture

^ He is right. But here are the only pictures I could find of the two with different pics.

I have the sports and they came in the dark blue as pictures, I can only guess but if those are what they say then maybe they used to be that blue color, I know the sway bars went from that color blue to silver powder coat but not sure on springs.

I went with the sports and man it was a great decision. Everything improved, ride qualify, tire gap, nose dive, handling. Steeda products are always top notch. The only thing I regret is not going with the Ultralites for the extra 1/4" drop because I was timid about lowering it too far. That extra little bit I think give it a perfect stance and tire/fender gap.

Hence the "Ha!" lol
You'd think it wouldn't be too much trouble to post accurate pics, but hey I don't work for Steeda.
Hope you get it figured out, OP.
I'm sure a call to Steeda with identifying info would clear it up.

I actually saw that the 555-8215 was the old linear and the 555-8216 are the older version of the sports as well that are progressive. They are def used, I knew that going in. I actually think I might be pretty happy about these older style sports.

I hear ya, they advertised them correctly though. They only used the part number that is on the springs. Never called them sports or ultra lights.

Got the springs today. They look great in person. They are a darker blue, nothing looks abnormal. In fact they look pretty new, just a few scratches that are to be expected. I am waiting for a few other parts in the mail and hope to get these installed in a week or so. Thanks to everyone for the help.

Yes, those look like the Sport springs & the part number would confirm that:

Steeda Mustang Sport Springs (05-14) - Made in USA 555-8216 - Free Shipping!

Sorry, I didn't see this thread earlier.

You won't be disappointed in Steeda's suspension collection ... we have design, engineering, manufacturing & testing all at our Valdosta, GA facility.

Let me know if I can help assist with anything?

Best Regards,

TJ

Awesome thank you. I plan on a full Steeda suspension over time. My next purchase will be your new watts link set up. I really like how it is built and designed.
