Barton or ford racing?

I'm looking into purchasing a short throw shifter....what is the difference between a Barton short throw shifter and a ford racing one? And wht is the plus of buying a shifter with a two post bracket?

Exact same. It's just branded and not branded.

Barton makes the Ford Racing shifter, they jack the price up because of that. get the Barton

They are the same as mentioned above, but the ford racing comes with the retaining nut for the shift boot and the ford racing shifter ball. I went with the FRPP because I wanted that entire set up so it made sense for me. If you want a different ball then you should go Barton.

I got the Barton with a blowfish bracket and I love it! Excellent shifting at over 7k in any gear. It's the exact same thing as a ford racing blower and you'll never know the difference.

You might want to look at a MGW shifter before you buy. There GREAT.

^i haven't seen that option. I got mine from AM, it's the only one they offer. If you aren't down with the white ball you might as well go with the Barton and get which ever ball you want. Just remember you need the shift boot retainer nut also.

^^^ x2 get the mgw race spec. It's the best shifter out there for our cars. I have the Barton and it is good. But it still is not as solid at the mgw. And mgw goes to great lengths to make their race spec quiet, with virtually no vibrations. That's more than I can say for my Barton. If you get the Barton, and decide you want the blow fish bracket you spent 500+ dollars where the race spec is more like 450 ish with no vibrations or tranny noise cominng up though the shifter. The Barton is so noisey, it annoys me.
