My 1/4 mile time @ CA Speedway

Ok guys I ran my car today and only got 1 pass before they closed the track because of rain. Tell me what you think of my time. I'm the right lane car # 4045. My reaction time is real good huh.

That's a pretty decent run. Mods?

Good time for street rubber, not so great if it's a drag radial.....

I challenge you, put it in the 11s. Your mph says that's possible on a sticky tire.

I have supposedly the softest tune you can buy, factory airbox and exhaust, up to the GT500s out back, full load BBP car and I put that in the 11s on basically a tire, and I'm going 4 mph faster than you when I get there.

Set a goal that's actually a bit hard to do, you can get there.

That was my first and only run so I was happy with it. If I go catless I'm sure that will help. Car felt good and the tires hooked good.

There's more in it, as it sits. Mph is a little soft for a custom tune car but, that will likely improve as time drops. You able to hold 4th through the stripe?

I have the Mike roush tune and from what most say it's the best tune for autos. I was full weight with 1/4 tank of fuel. I launched around like 1600 rpm.

You should be running through the traps at the top of third. Should not be finishing in 4th gear.

Overall not bad. 60' was about as good as you're going to get. Trap speed was a little low. Keep at it and if possible data log one of your runs for Mike.

Did not realize your auto. You should be low 12's. I ran VMP 93 street tune only 12.45, 12.47, 12.51 hot lapped on oem nero's. And I was shifting into 4th right before traps. Traps 111-112 and 2.00 60 foots. 1/8's were 8.16 @ 88 mph for reference. Fyi

Sorry about the brain fart, I forgot auto. Should be holding third.

The 60 on stock suspension with a drag tire is going to be 1.5 at best. It is doable but is tough on an auto with the stock converter.

There were 5 other mustangs all in the 13's so how you guys say your "stock" mustangs are low 12's kinda makes me think it must be location. As soon as I parked 2 dudes asked what I had done to my car to get such a good time. I think if you run low 12s in your state you will run high 12s or low 13s here.

It's not about claiming "stock" or not. You should be doing a bit better based on what you have already done. It's there for the taking; you should not be satisfied with what you've done so far, based upon what you report you've done to the car. It's not about "going catless"; it is about maximizing what you have.

I never said my mustang was stock or low 12's. I ran solid mid 12's with just a tune and drop in filter. You have quite a few more mods than me. We are trying to help not shame.

My runs were in 350 da at 1500 elevation. Corrected for sea level it was a 12.2 range. BTW my first and best run was coming off idle and my second and third run was 1200 rpms and 1500 rpms on the brake. So I went slower when trying to give it throttle on the brake. These cars are sensitive to this I hear.

Get some more runs in and see where your average lands. Even though Mike is good tuner I'm sure there is more left in the tune. Secondly, try leaving off idle next time. Good luck.

Yes I'm in CA so 91 Oct tune. I know I can knock down the time a little more but 12.5 is the best I've seen any Coyote run when I was there or at Irwindale 3 weeks ago.

Is it just me, I don't see a time-slip attached.

Best run I have done 2013 GT is 13.1 on 19" stock Nero P Zeros, Ford 93 TrackKey tune, and shifting it myself on the MT82. I need to learn better launch and I know I can get the time down into the 12s where it belongs.

Now, I'll give you that you have **** gas where you are but a free flowing exhaust and tune should turn in better than 111 mph on one of these cars. 111 is in easy reach of a factory exhaust car, seen it many times, even autos.

It isn't about your power mods, you've also got a sticky tire. That's the combo that has more in it.

Yes I would say that is good for your gas an location, but like the others said, like me; I think we both can get it lower as a goal.

Funny think, I was using Firefox and switched to chrome just now and can see the attachment; so firefox was farkin me up.

I think why some of you realized it, some didn't. He's an auto with a stock converter. His 60' isn't getting much better without a better converter. Times aren't bad at all for just a tune and mufflers. BTW op mods and sig don't show on the Mobil app. What's the mods just axle back and roush tune?

I went 12.40's with long tubes and full o/r exhaust, jlt and boss intake. I was also on an apparently crappy hypermotive tune and 20" Foose heavy rims. Previous owner installed 373's too so those probably hurt. Sounds like your doing fine to me. I'd suggest a converter. Since then I've done a circle D 5c converter, switched to an AED tune and added sve drags and the car is nignt and day. I'd say it'll do at least 11'50 now or better especially once I install the 331 gear sitting in the garage.
