rear diffuser options on a 14 5.0

Has any one put any kind of rear diffuser other than the gt500 one?

Oh yeah I forgot about the boss diffuser.
Do you have to cut the bumper to install it?

Cutting the bumper is cake. Just follow the lines on the inside of the bumper.

There are a lot of good/thorough install videos available, but yeah I have also felt the same way. Permanent mods always freak me out.

I was going to but decided overall the look doesn't stand out enough to warrant it. Nobody would notice unless you pointed it out.

Cutting might not be worth the Boss diffuser install, I love my quads though. I've never done anything that invasive or permanent to a car before, but it really is simple, just time consuming. Taking apart and cutting my new car was a little unnerving, but it's actually very simple. Had my dad give me a hand and we got it done in a day.

I hacked up both my trunk lid and the rear bumper, don't be scared fellas it's easy! Especially the diffuser. Ford made it extremely easy with the stencil lines they drew up for the diffuser on the oem rear fascia.

Or build your own diffuser. The one I built is on my GT/CS rear.

I don't see how it could in stock trim. Maybe if the oem rear fascia was cut to fit. Would look good body color on something light.

It is very nice. A little too flashy for my taste, but it looks great on the car. And points for being different. I didn't know APR made diffusers for the S197's.

Yes, it's not for everyone. It's more function over form. Although I love the way it looks I do track days quite a bit. Thx.

You want to come build me one for my 2001? I could really use it, for functional purposes and not looks.

APR makes some pretty badass stuff. I want to eventually get their GT-250 wing.

Yeah I'm a big fan of the boss. I think it looks better than the GT500 diffuser personally with the 3 fins.

Sure, all I need is a break and a lift
It'll work better if we do this, too. Build the diffuser to be against the bottom of the vehicle, and flatten the bottom of the vehicle up to that point.

Saw someone on Instagram do the same thing like you. He made 2 versions; street and race. And sells them, can't remember how much but I remember the race version was cheaper.

I'd love to see em! Always ways to improve. Mine could be better if I followed the proper angle, and rounded it, but with the aluminum and the stupid stuff under there, this is the best way. I'm better off with good gates and a sealed bottom so no parachuting than best angle- tons of work but not much gain :/

Was thinking about adding gate extensions so they would come down lower for competing...these already scrape on everything lol

You notice it when your driving behind it more often so than walking around the car.
