Power seat failure

So yesterday my passenger seat stopped moving back and forth...it still angles but sounds horrible when doing so. Ive read that i need a whole new seat assembly, costing, part alone about $400!!!

Does anyone know if there is a manual over ride...can we move our seats ir am i out of luck?

Thanks

PS....has anyone changed this part on their own after buying the new assembly...im NOT paying Ford $1000 that they estimated me...

Happened to my drivers seat like literally a week before my warranty expired. Back n fourth worked but up and down sounded like **** and would stop after a sec tho. No override I'm aware of. You could probably just get a new motor and swap it out, that's what they replaced on mine.

They told me there is no motor replacement...the WHOLE assembly, ALL MOTORS have to come out and be replaced

Interesting. I'd get a second opinion. Mine may have been assembly as well. Not for sure.

I wonder if you can just replace it with a manual mechanism. I don't care for the power seat on the passenger side anyway as it just takes too long to move it forward when someone's trying to get into the back seat. Most of the time it's just slightly annoying but standing in the rain waiting for that seat is a big inconvenience.

Doesn't american muscle sale the parts? 1000 is way to much for that price might as well replace the seats lol.

Yeah I'd probably just swap it for a manual seat track. That would be the cheaper/easier way to go.

The manual seat track was as expensive...or just barely cheaper...i looked. Seems like i need to shell it out...dont want my airbag to blow...
