NOW I HEARD ON ANOTHER THREAD ...oops...that MIG & TIG can be the same in some uses. Dragsters will benefit from the 1/2" more thick housing I learned. I'm street performance.

Just for reference, MIG and TIG are not the same. MIG is easy to learn, can lay down weld 2/3 times faster than a TIG and is used to weld thick and thin metals and aluminum. TIG is a more precise weld and uses less heat. I know you guys don't really car about racing, but 95% of a NASCAR is welded with a TIG. A good TIG welder can almost make the weld invisible. In most of my drag cars I've always TIG welded structural members like motor mounts, trans mounts, 4 link systems, ladder bar systems. When I've built headers, it's the only weld I use. On roll cages, if they are made of mild steel then MIG is good, if made of Chrome Moly then I use TIG............IMHO
