Dreaded Engine Tick

My 5.0 has 34k miles on it. I've known about the dreaded 5.0 engine tick for a while and been hoping to never deal with it. Well I recently got an oil change and noticed that I hear a random ticking sometimes while reving/slipping the clutch and slowly accelerating. I can hear it even better when in a closed area like my garage or sitting in a drive threw. I'm hoping that the tick doesn't get worse or will possibly go away. 😞

Unhappy

I have 13k on mine and haven't heard it yet. I was hoping if I was going to get it then I would have heard it by now, But you have 34k before you got it, now I'm not sure about mine.

I'm new to the ticking. Have we determined what it is? Not the cause but what actually ticks?

some people say its a cam gear or something, I never actually heard what it really is,,,,It doesn't seem to hurt anything because a lot of people said they have the tick for a very long time. Wish someone could say what it really is.
