What oil are you using? Everything I have read on this situation points to 20W-50 oil or full synthetic being a problem with the tick issue.

Full synthetic is not the cause of a ticking issue in the 5.0. Let's not start (or continue to add to) this myth.

If you did run 87 octane on 93 octane tune it might cause some issues.

No might about it. It will.

Try buying more 93 at a different station. Lower octane will def cause problems on a car tuned for 93

I once knew a girl who's family owned a gas station/liquor store and they ran regular gas in all their tanks. Or was it that they mixed regular into the higher grade tanks. Can't remember. It's been 10+ years.

Yeah, well I knew someone who worked at a small gas station & they only had 2 tank reservoirs.

I believe from back when they used to only have 2 types of gas (like unleaded & leaded) Point is, they didn't have room to upgrade / add a 3rd tank. And they could not sell lower octane than quote b/c if someone came out & tested their gas & they failed they would be in trouble.

They had to have premium (93) for the premium pump.
And I don't remember which, but one of the other pumps you got a free upgrade.

It was either:
93 & 89 pumps both got 93, with 87 pump getting 87 <-- think
OR
89 & 87 pumps both got 89 octane, with 93 pumps getting 93
