Hi from new member EJK13Coyote and a ramble

Hello friends,
My name is Eric. Just wanted to introduce myself. I bought my first Mustang last year, 2013 GT - slightly mod already. I will be sending pics and asking for lots of GOOD advice in the near future. I have dreamed of owning a Mustang since I test drove a used '88 GT when I was 18 years old. My dad said he wouldn't cosign. It was kids and bills after that. Mid-life crisis, you ask, if it is I am having a blast!! I literally shake when I hit fourth gear at close to 100 MPH on the highway!
One of my greatest dreams came true this past summer/early fall. I drove it from Canton, Oh to Myrtle Beach. My wife's exact quote.."you are the only person I know that smiles paying a toll on the West Virginia turnpike." My response, "...best $6.00 I ever spent!"
Thanks for listening to me ramble, I hope you all understand.
See ya!

Congrats! I had an '85 GT back in the day. I won first place at a car show with it. Unfortunately, I modded it to the point of it not being comfortable. I had a bunch of cars in between, but I came back to the Mustang.

Post some pics when you can.

Just so you know, you're not alone.
Two reasons I didn't get a 15, the IRS and the looks.
The looks have kind of grown on my and I now like them. As for IRS, the verdict is still out and some people that have been adding HP to the 15 are spending money to fix the OE issues with the IRS, and this reminds me of the 1999/2004 SVT Cobra's and all the issues they had with that IRS.
So for me it's a wait and see thing. If the 16 comes out with mod's that address the issues.........then I may switch.........if they don't I won't.

Yes same here that is why I went with the 2014, the 15 body style has not grown on me and most of the 03-04 SVT Cobra's around my area that had IRS all when with the solid axle conversion!

It's weird, I liked the 00 model mustang when in high school and for about 10 years, hated them. Then, my tastes changed back into them with the coyote and I'm so glad it did. Don't get me wrong, I still like imports such as sti, evo, gtr, supra, s2000, and rx7, but there's something special about the pony. One day when I live somewhere nicer, I would like to get a 2014 gt500 for me, hand down the 5.0 to my son that will be born next month and get either another evox or maybe the new rs focus to beat around everyday.

Know what you mean, I kept my 2000 GT for 14 years before I traded her in on my 14, she was a good car and only let me down once when she blew the # 1 plug out, that was embarrassing! Now I wish I would have kept her for my daily driver

The 65 was when I was first married and bought it for $500, and it was a convertible 4spd "C" code car. It was a late model and had an electric top. Next one was a real GT with HiPo 289 (it had been hit in the front) and the 68-1/2 was an CJ car (one of 50 built by Ford just for drag racing), then the 86 5.0 Capri was basically a Mustang just a little fancier, and my 97 was the one I did the most suspension work on..............loved that car. Now the 14................we will see, as this may be the last car I work on.
So, actually only 5 street Mustangs and 1 drag race Mustang. Yes, I've had a few street cars/hot rods/drag/road race cars in my 70 years.
