Resonator Deletes

Couple questions, anyone on here in Northern VA know any shops that can do a resonator delete and have the piping themselves? And also for people who have done a res delete, did you buy new over axle pipes or just take it to an exhaust shop and let them do it for you?

Any exhaust shop should be able to cut out the resonators and weld in some replacement pipe. I think most people are using 3" replacement pipe.

I bought a set of GT 500 OTA pipes off of a 2013 GT 500 to do my deletes but these are hard to find for sale. Borla makes a set and so does another company that I can't think of the name of at the moment.

Anyone deleted these with just a S-Type axleback? Would you do it again? Opinions?

Thanks,

SK

Went with MAG 15150 cat back I think you might want to go with full cat backs. Most fit very well no cutting or welding.

I took mine to Midas and had them cut out resonators and put pipes in. Took some haggling but I got them down to $70.

Can you give us your opinion on how the sound changed with them gone? I have the S-types. Is there any drone since removing? Is the tone the same just louder? If so, is it a lot louder?

Thanks
SK

they are louder overall but nothing excessive (at least not for me) and still zero drone at any speed. i must say there is some rasp at high rpms but i like rasp. everyone that hears them seems to like them. im really happy with it. i didnt want to buy the OTA pipes only to not like the sound but to dip my toes in for $80 i couldnt pass it up and im glad i did.

Do they have crackling/popping noise when you let go off gas at high rpms? Do they rasp when you give it gas in general?

Yeah I have Roush and pypes x pipe and I know most people dont like deleting resonators with roush but I like that raspyish sound and I want to give it a try, if it sounds like the videos I'll definitely like it. I don't have many muffler shops I know of around here but I guess ill just try midas
