2015 Mustang 5.0 vs 2012 GT500

Which would you rather have a
2015 5.0 Track pack or a 2012 GT500 ?

I assume you're looking at those 2 b/c similar price points, low $40k?

I'd rather the new better interior, loaded track pack 2015 GT.

Now if it was a low miles convertible 2012 gt500 in the right color or any 2013+ GT500. I would take those instead. Unfortunately, you can't get Track Pack on a convertible GT.

How about this... a best of both worlds:
Ford Mustang GT 630HP | eBay

2015 fast, supercharged, with warranty..

but about the same price as 2012 GT500

Yes my budget is 40k ,
I like the 15 cause of all the new features but I love the gt500 for the raw power , that 2015 supercharged is nice but it's a base I would like to have a screen for 40k +

If it was a 2013/14 GT500, maybe. Based on what you said go with 2015 and add positive displacement supercharger.* If you want to go Ford, they make a 624hp kit that is nice and looks stock. With either Roush or Ford you will want to get custom tune at some point since both of these eleave some power on the table.

It's over simplified.... but it is a good generalization.

New:
-has warranty
-people look at 2015 & know its new, the 2012 has old looking tail lights... looks old
-2012 GT500 "only had 550hp" that's easy to hit with the newer 5.0

if you want a GT500 b/c its an OEM supercharged "special edition"... wait until the 2013's come down in price & get one of them. They're a world better car.

2013 GT500 should be doable. even if not would take the 2012 over the new GT any day. OR... my personal preference (for whatever the hell thats worth lol) 2013 GT and mod the hell out of it to get exactly what you want. FI, looks, traction, lowered...

Brand new naturally aspirated 5.0 would be nicer to own.

Just for the record they no longer call it Track Package, for 15 it's called "GT Performance Package".............go figure!

Wishful thinking about the price of the 13/14 GT500 coming down after they introduce the GT350. The GT350 is going to be in limited numbers just like the Boss, and if you haven't put your name in the hat already..............forget it. The price may come down when they bring the GT500 or whatever they are going to call it in 17...............then it should slide........a little.

Figure of speech.............Ford is and will always be the "Blue Oval" to me.
Even if they did give it away in 2006............they got it back in 2012.

I wouldn't hold your breath on the 13-14 GT 500 dropping a whole lot. I personally think the 11-14 cars especially the lower production cars are going to hold their value pretty well once the excitement of the new car levels off.
