AM's black overlays questions

So I had these sitting around from my last 5.0 and decided what the hell, throw em on. Well to start, many of them were too small, which I used heat to attempt to stretch them to the best of my ability, but it's not that pretty. There are some bubbles as well. Has anyone here done this to their car? If so, how did it go? I feel like these have some to be desired as far as the cutting. Are the bubbles supposed to go away? If so, how long should it take?

You could try poking the bubbles with a needle and then flatten them out with your finger.

I tried that on a few. The instructions claim it's porous, but I was wondering if anyone has gone through this before. I'm not very patient and after 24 hours, it hasn't got any better really.

Every one I've seen with these installed looks just like that. It's too bad. It would looks so sweet if it went on right.

The bubbles will go away with time. When I did my taillights I had the same issue. I would suggest pushing them out every couple of days. Until they are gone.

Thanks for the replies. I'll do as stated and give it a couple weeks and if it doesn't get better, I think I'll have to remove them.

Famine - Sorry to hear about the trouble you had with the tint - I think because they've been sitting for some time they got warped for lack of a better term. Either way shoot me a PM and I'm happy to get a replacement kit shipped out for you free of charge as I can't have you rolling around with air bubbles like this!!!

More than likely it's water/moisture, over time the heat will fix your problem.

Thanks I was wondering if that could be a factor. I had a thought that maybe it could have been for an earlier year but that would have only affected the 3rd brake light to my knowledge. Hopefully they will clear up. If not, I'll hit you up. Thanks for your willingness to help.

Famine - Definitely! Temperature change no matter where the tint was stroed can wreak havoc on the materials. If you're unable to get them out just shoot me a PM with your order number. I'm not here to split hairs about something like this so just let me know and I'm here to help no matter what! Keep me in the loop!

I don't mess around here! Considering this is an overlay and having worked with them extensively they're very sensitive to temperature. As I said it above I'm not here to split hairs about something that's a few weeks or months old. If I had a nickel for all of the mods that I have lying around It would look something like this below:

If anyone ever has a problem with parts or an order from us I'd love to hear about it so if anything comes up don't hesitate to make a post, shoot me a pm, give us a call or an email and we're here to help!

I had a local shop tint all mine and very happy with it. I did get the tail light inserts for my 2013 from AM and they are a perfect fit and am very happy with them.

Hey Rock - Thanks for taking the time to let us know. I'm really happy to hear that you enjoyed your Taillight Trim for your '13 - We cut all of the vinyl, tint, and graphics in house and our vinyl team is made up of a team of 4. They handle everything for the entire company and they're a bunch of perfectionists! They take pride in what they do so if you're to ever have an issue with anything from us that's made/cut in house don't hesitate to let me know and I'll have it replaced free of charge!

If anyone has any other questions about our Vinyl or Graphics don't hesitate to let me know and I'm here to help!

Alex
