Sorry to numb this thread from several years ago. I just disassembled my manifold on a 2013 5.0 and noticed that there is no need to port the intake manifold unless you are planning on doing the heads as well.
The dimensions of the heads runners to the manifold are identical on the right side of the motor (if you are looking at it from the front bumper) and the fitment is straight. The left side slightly offset, I am talking about less than 1/8 of an inch off set. If you bolted down the manifold and peek through the injector holes, you can see less of 1/8" of the heads in each one of the 4 injection ports. So before porting the manifold, the heads will need to be ported first, at least in my case.
If anyone has more input on this please let me know as I am considering the porting option. Trying to build a strong N/A. Boss/cobra intake and cams will eventually follow.
