Revolution Automotive MT82 upgrade review
so I'll start by stating I had issues with second gear engaging at low speeds/rpms, took it to the stealership (actually two) and the first wouldn't touch the car because it was modified, the second was cool, but said they couldn't replicate the issue. I ended up taking the car to Revolution Automotive in Baltimore Maryland, they tore the trans apart and said second gear was gone, parts were on back order for two weeks, I picked the car up last Thursday, also had them install an Exedy Mach 500 clutch.
As I pulled out of Rev's parking lot, I immediately noticed the clutch engagement was smooth and consistent, shifted into second and wow! so smooth and solid with no nibble or grind to be found, all gears shift so smooth and solid now! I have not beat on the car at all as I want to break the clutch in properly, so I can't say how it performs in that aspect, but normal driving is a pleasure, even first thing on a cold morning in the 20's there is no grind/nibble to be found, I think my stock slave cylinder was at fault for some of my issues but the upgraded shift pads and shift stops are amazing! as far as second gear being gone, in puzzled because I never really ever railed on this car or missed second with gear clash to damage the gear. as of now, I'm happy I stuck with the MT82 and went with the Revolution upgrade/rebuild. The Exedy Mach 500 is a great feeling clutch as well, slightly heavier pedal with a more consistent engagement. I'll update after I break the clutch in and do some high rpm shifts
