New gears, price?

it's been a long process but I'm finally ready for new gears

I started out with a 100% stock 2012 kona blue gt with 4k miles on it 4 months ago
after CAI, boss 302 IM, kooks long tubes, O/R xpipe, flowmaster outlaws, Bama tune, shifter braket, lowering springs, new PZeros, and to many exterior mods to list...

Im ready to get rid of the stock 3.31s and get 3.73s. But I'm curious to know how much it will cost for a shop to do it? since I'm not the mechanically inclined to do it myself

Is there anything I should know before doing it? (Besides a retune) anything I should include when they do it?

Usually around 250-300 for Labor alone, but you should have them change out the bearings while they are in there, it's recommended. Americanmuscle has the whole kit, oil and friction modifier as well.

Like my grandpa :p haha but for a DD 331 is fine

But you'll also want to drive like a granny for the first 500 miles or so, nothing over 60 for the first 100 at least then swap out oil since you might have some metal shavings from the gears

My car has 3.15's and it's probably faster than 98% of the cars here.

I agree I have Ford Racing 3.31 gears in my 5.0 and its crazy quick. I also still get decent fuel mileage out of my car too so its definitely worth it to upgrade the gears. just make sure you get someone reputable to do the work and get a good tune to go along with those gears or your speedometer will be off.

So 3.31's arnt to bad? Ive just heard 3.73s offer a lot more get up and go, along with still offering decent fuel mileage. I mean I usually drive the car 2-4 times a week to work, or I'll drive my truck. So I'm not to concerned about mpg. Just want. Little more out of the car

Lots of guys get gear whine with 3.73's also. I personally don't feel this is a worthwhile mod.
