I took it out today and got 3 different people asking how that's possible or where did I get them. But the price and degree of difficulty seemed to be an issue for them.

lol thanks man. I'm loving them for sure.

Yeah they were confused on how I had done that with the glass. They didn't realize it had to be removed. One of those things where people never knew there was a different option to the stick on louvers.

Ahhhh I see lol. Yeah, first time I saw them was on a cobra jet at the track and was like, "oh, I'm probably going to get those!"

Posted this in the random photos area also, but check it out.

What do you guys think of this? I picked up some coil covers on eBay super cheap. They are obviously for a coyote but they were painted sunset gold which was last on an s197 in 2010. So that year wouldn't have had a coyote in it. I'm kinda digging these on my white car. Gold is kinda classy when done right and in small doses. Thoughts? I was also thinking about doing my calipers in this same color match paint code from G2.

Nice contrast on the Coil covers, and good ideal on matching the calipers! Question on your louvers, did you order the installation kit also?

Thanks man! I did not buy the install kit through silver horse for a few reasons.

Reason number one was because I already had the tool to remove the glass (harbor freight maybe 12 bucks prob less)

Reason number two, they are over priced. I got the adhesive and primer shipped to my door for like 35 bucks.

I believe when you buy the whole shebang from silver horse it's like 80 (that's with the package discount)

Just make sure you order the exact primer and adhesive they offer. The owner of the company told me the biggest issue they have is when people pay a shop to do this work and they use any old adhesive and or primer. He said give it 6 months and it will leak or come loose.

No prob. Yeah they make a ton of cool things like that. That should be cool! Also if your active or prior military they have a discount code good for 5% off.

I understand completely. I've spent too much already and still have so much I want. lol

As for spoiler, i don't know. I'm pretty deep into another project right now so we'll see. I'm quite scatter brained. One week it's mustang, the next it's camaro.

I think the gold coil covers/caliper idea is great btw

^ thanks man. I'm anxious to get the calipers done. I can see it in my mind and I like it. But you just never know until you do it.

I hear ya on the scattered projects front. I have a little ranger I'm messing with, and I haven't touched it since having the mustang. I really need to get back on it. I have so many parts already. I really just need to finish fabricating the frame and suspension. I just know it's going to swallow all my time. So I've been trying to get the stang to a point I can be "done" with it and enjoy it before I blink and it has 100k miles and I've not done half the mods I wanted to do to it.

Yeah man I've got to get my truck together so I can keep the miles off the stang. 430k miles on a 2v 4.6, was running fine but the head gasket was leaking. Figured it was time to go through the motor. lol

So i have the f150 to put back together, the camaro in a million pieces, and the 5.0 that's currently my dd and I still have some random crap I haven't installed on it...and there's always that damn grass that won't stop growing...I don't get bored. lol

Oxford5pointoh build thread

Alright I had a few hours to tinker around in the garage today so I was able to finally install my GT500 rear brake conversion.

Stock 11" rotor lameness

Painted the raw areas on the new rotors so I didn't have to look at a bunch of stupid disgusting rust. I hate that. I even got the outside edge

Hard to tell a difference as of yet, still breaking in the new pads and rotors. But even if I feel nothing, I like the look so much better. Worth the 300 bucks or so spent on parts

Looks so much better than the weak looking stock rear brakes. Great car man, can't wait to see it at the AM show.

Thanks man! Yeah I love the brembo wheels. I am looking at doing some forgestar f14 gun metal wheels with a nice staggered setup at some point, and I will probably run the brembo wheels in the winter with a better all season tire.

Thanks DW, I really appreciate the love. I'm used to getting a pre-owned car that takes me this much effort just to get it back to where it should be had the previous owner taken care of it. So getting this car new and not having to mess with anything but the fun stuff has been a blast. Love that white new edge in your profile pic btw 👍🏻😉

Awesome work my brother. I showed it to the wife and we both agree. It's sick! Love the new louvers. Following along quietly.

Hey thank you sir! It's no Shelby but I do love it. You going to be at the AM show? I think I saw you talking about it on another thread but I could be wrong. If so, it will be cool to see your ride for sure 👍🏻👍🏻💦😆

Looks great as usual bud. GT500 brembos are coming up on the check off list for me. Base GT brakes are about as good as traction is with the stock Pirelli's....

Yeah, hopefully. I'm going to have the repaint in mid july most likely, so I'd be great to get the louvers in, and hopefully the Stalker or Trufiber hood. We're all going to be so busy at the AM show.

Bahahaha they must really be terrible. I test drove a base GT without brembos that was used since the dealer didn't have any new 14's on the lot. It wasn't bad but I instantly noticed the brakes when I got behind the wheel of mine. You going to pop on the 6piston brembos or the 4 piston like I have? It's an expensive upgrade but so is everything on these damn cars 😢💰💸

Well good luck with that list bud. I know a million people have mentioned it but gah that show seems like it needs to be 2-3 days not one. I feel like I'm going to be running around like a crazy person trying to soak it all in. Plus I'm sure the award ceremony when I win that foose 15 will take up a ton of my time 😜

It's an expensive upgrade but so is everything on these damn cars 😢💰💸

They're awful. Trying to stop on a dime in the 1/4 at 110mph isn't the safest feeling in the world lol. They feel downright unsafe. And I'm not sure yet. I'll never see an auto cross event or road course, so I think the 4 piston will do. Maybe I can find a used set up and rebuild/paint them when the time is right.

And true story about everything being so damn expensive! It's a mustang, products are made in mass quantities, you'd think thinks would be a smidge cheaper lol

Yeah if you want to do it on the cheap, I'd go the eBay route. There is a seller I believe it's shelbyauctions, they are the Las Vegas Shelby dealership. They constantly list Shelby 4 piston take offs that they are replacing on people's cars that apparently have way to much money. But I see them go for 400-600 bucks. Then you could easily customize them up. I don't think you really need the 6 Piston set up honestly. I'm sure it is better but most people agree it's not worth the extra money. More bragging rights than anything.
