Yeah the yellow is an acquired taste. I'm glad I got white in a way because it's low profile. So far I haven't had a cop look at me twice, and I am rolling with out a front plate displayed most of the time. Just waiting to get rolled for it.

We don't have to have front plates here but the dealership I got mine from drilled into the front bumper to put a plate to advertise their lot. So If it pull mine I've got 2 nasty holes staring at me. I was a bit angry when I realized this.

Oxford5pointoh build thread

Yep. It's an epidemic. Mine was drilled also as you can see it was one of my mods. Eventually I will end up repainting the front fascia anyway from rock chips ect (years down the road) and I will fill the holes and smooth it out.

I don't think it's fair that the dealer gets to make that decision to deface the car in that way. Here it's illegal to not have a front plate. So they do it before they hit the lot but I think the owner should have the choice. Their are so many after market companies making alternative mounts to avoid these permanent marks.

I agree. I ordered those damn bumper plugs. I didn't like paying that much for 2 plastic plugs but it is what it is.

I still have to figure out how to remove the dealer sticker from the back of my trunk lid without damaging the paint. I swear right now I'm a roller advertisement. I should get paid for this.

Assuming it's a sticker of some sort just hit it with some heat either from a hair dryer or a heat gun (I have a handy dandy harbor freight one) just put it on low and keep it moving, then once it's warned up it should come right off. That's one thing I didn't let the dealer do. No plate frames, no dealer sticker. They were all sad about it. Oh well sorry. It's that or I rip it off when I get home and throw it in the trash.

My wife's Jetta had one on it when we bought it and I told them when we were doing the deal to take it off or no deal. They happily took it off.

Yeah I'm gonna try the blow dryer on it eventually.

That x pipe you're running, is that an after cat piece?

Yeah it bolts to the factory cats. I didn't want to go off-road with mine yet. Maybe one day. But they make the cat delete parts so I won't ever have to change the x-pipe

Yeah I want to go off road x but I don't want to tune the car due to warranty, just in case. Big difference in sound?

Yeah I have heard a few that are off-road and it's pretty dang loud. Plus the drone. I commute in mine for now so I can't do it. But once it's a weekend car I will maybe. Check out YouTube videos and you will hear the difference for sure.

Seeing those flush mount windows is kinda making me want them more than the Eleanor's.

^ I can't even tell you how excited I am to get my set. The worst part is waiting for these suckers. The price hurts a bit also, but man I think they are sexy. I have talked myself out of buying other sets a few times always knowing that I wouldn't be happy with them.

I initially wanted Eleanor's, then I saw these. I'll wait to see how they look on yours before I make a decision.

Before I had to take mine off because someone damaged them trying to break in my car. I already have a new set at home that I need to get painted.

Picked up my GT500 Spoiler from the paint shop this morning! Wooooohoooo! Can't wait to get it on! Dude charged me 75 bucks, I didn't even feel right about that. Gave him 80, plus once I get it on he will cut and buff it for me for 10, but I told him I'd give him 20. That's more than fair.

What's great about this guy is that he paints all the cop cars in town, Oxford white Taurus's so it's nothing for him to shoot a part like that for me. I just have to wait for it to be convenient for him. Plus I figure what goes around comes around. I used to do that kind of work and I hated it when people didn't see the value and effort of my work.

Awesome. Looks great. Yeah my guy is the same way. I've brought so many little pieces to him like the wing, decklid, extractors, had my roof painted on my last car that he really takes care of me because he knows I'll always be back for something else lol.

Can't wait to see the spoiler. I'm undecided on which one i like. Sometimes I like the gt500 but sometimes it looks too big.

Same with the cs spoiler. I like it on some cars, others I don't.

I didn't know how I felt about the GT500 wing initially. I just took the plunge and bought it. My rear end was already pretty aggressive and it put it over the top, but not too much. I think it's really the only wing that should be on the back of these S197's...

And removed, wow that sucker was on there. Used a big bondo spreader to slip into the tape and cut it without scratching it ect. Worked like a champ. Took me about 25 min to remove it.

I'll be doing the same spoiler, it's crazy how much the profile of the car changes just from adding it. Your car is turning out quite well!! Have you thought about tinting? Especially on a white car, could really make the car look mean

Thanks man. Yeah it really makes the car look aggressive. Yeah I have thought about and will at some point do the tint. But here in va the cops love to pull you over for it. I had an exemption on my last vehicle and had the front windows tinted at 35% where normally 50% is the max. I would get pulled over once a week so they could test it, harass me, verify I have the exemption then let me go. So I will probably do just 50% which as you know hardly makes a difference so it just hasn't been at the top of my list.

Naturally. It's cool to see how it would've looked if I kept the black decklid theme going. I think they both look fantastic.
