Guy is giving me an x3 with the Lund tunes that are not vin locked. I originally thought I'd look into the ngauge but I don't think I need it with all my other gauges. Plus you can't beat free for an x3

No you certainly cannot beat free.99. I only got the Nguage myself because beefcake gave it to me for the price of the X4. Unfortunately my Nguage is locked to Lund, however, there's no other tuner I'd rather have it be locked to lol.

Thanks man! I'm very fortunate to have been able to swing all this. If you asked me when I bought the car if I ever thought I'd be at this point with the car I'd have said no way!

Same here honestly lol. I had an idea I wanted to go FI, but I would've thought it would've been well after I paid the car off lol.

Not likely. I will be significantly slower than everything else. I'm just trying to make it up the hill with the AC on over here 😉

So I finally got around to programming my premium instrument cluster yesterday. Man this thing is BA. Now I've got the track apps and a bunch of extra gauge information. I had been holding off till the mileage got really close to matching the cluster. My car had 38,900 miles and this cluster had 40,190. I was going to wait till it was near identical (within 10-20 miles) but I wanted to get this installed before the whipple goes on.

The VCM II tool I got from Kevin.cook AKA zombieslayer worked great. The program is kinda hard to navigate. Luckily I loaned the tool to DiESeven a few months ago so he could do his and he got to figure out the software BS. In case anyone ever wants to do this, here is how I did it.

VCM II tool using V.91 IDS

I DID NOT NEED ANY AS BUILT CODES. Neither did DiEseven. We both have 14's so maybe that has something to do with it. But I got track apps and everything works as it should on my base model GT MT-82

Once you get IDS installed, you will get this screen. Obviously you select ford and the Dealer Code I used was XXXX. I read online that you can enter any number

First screen you get once you are set up, start session then go to ALL OTHER

This screen shows the VCM attempting to make a connection with the car. Gaining access takes 10 painful minutes

Then you get this screen. First thing you want to do is to the parameter reset. This erases the old cluster programming and the old keys that were programmed to the cluster.

This only takes a minute and then you get this screen. Now you go back through to the menu and program your 2 keys.

You simply put each key in the on position for a minimum of 6 seconds and then you follow a few prompts and you should get a finished screen. This kicks you out of the security access you waited 10 min for, so if you jack it up you have to wait another 10 min. That sucks.

Now turn the key and start your car. She should fire right up. Boom you are done. Not a hard mod, but irritating trying to navigate this IDS crap if you are winging it. I am lucky I had DiEseven helping me via text, otherwise I would have crushed my computer in frustration.

Whipple install going down. Not in any hurry or it could be done already. I am going to paint a few parts first before I install.

I was going to paint it white but it's just too much work. The black looks good, I am going to paint the lower intake manifold black though and the CAI shroud needs a touch up

Been working on the car here and there and ran into my first issue. The intercooler tank mounts in the drivers side of the bumper. Well of course I got it mounted as instructed and started looking at my bumper and realized the roush fog lights were probably going to get in the way. Threw the bumper on and sure enough, foglight to tank contact.

Started doing some research and the roush tank is up top and works because the roush is a rear feed. But the whipple is a front feed and there was just no way a tank would work up top. So I started looking at it and noticed the tank only needed about an inch and a half to clear by a quarter inch or so.

So I decided to make a bracket to move it back. It was pretty easy. Just got some aluminum and drilled the original mounting holes and a new mounting set the 1.5 inches back. Bolted it up, three the bumper on and boom. Back in business.

Next I need to get the oil cooler relocated and make some brackets for it. The intercooler mounted right where it was of course 😢 but I think I have a few ideas on how to mount it.

Thanks for the subscription! The thread has been pretty fun to look back at. I am scared to add up what I've spent though 😱

Total money spent I think I'm right at about 50% of the cost of the car itself.....😏

Yeah I've dropped over $7k and I've only had my mustang 3 months now.

Keep thinking about getting air ride but that's another $3k but at least all be able to drive lowered and then raise it when it snows or speed bumps/drive ways etc.

I have kept track of every mod and the cost in my notes on my phone.

I just hadn't added it up.
