I have a build list on AM, but I haven't bought everything through them. But that would be a good place to start.

Did some more work on the car today.

First I started fabricating a bracket to mount the oil cooler (cool tech) again. The intercooler for the whipple went right where the oil cooler used to be. So I took the brackets and fooled around for a bit and found that if I extended it straight out it would clear the intercooler and the bumper. So here is what I came up with

The raw aluminum is my extended brackets I made and they are bolted to the original brackets . The oil cooler is 22" X 8" x2" so thankfully it sits nicely in the upper grille area.

I did notice the bumper prob wasn't going to work with the factory fog brackets molded to the inner grille so I buzzed those off. I had no intentions of using them again anyway. Sold them on eBay a while back.

Went ahead and left my mark on the motor 😈

Then I swapped out the spark plugs for a colder set and gapped them to
.28, got the intercooler completely hooked up and then dropped the lower intake manifold on. Prepped the fuel rails, put in the injector dynamics 1000's and mounted the air box for the whipple. I tried to finish up the coolant stuff and install the thermostat but whipple gave me the wrong one (went to the office and bought a new one because I didn't want to reuse the last guys). So without that I can't finish that area up which means I couldn't do the pulley stuff. So I'm kinda at a stopping point for now.

Well today I finished the install on the whipple. This thing is just begging to be started. But sadly I don't have my tunes yet.

In other news I decided to order a fluidyne 3 row aluminum radiator since the coolant is still drained and who can't use a bit of cooling insurance? The stock radiator is kind of a joke and its in the 100's here in the Central Valley. Should only take a few minutes to install when it gets here this week!

That's awesome brother...good call on the upgraded radiator as that huffer is going to produce some massive heat. Excuse my ignorance, did that whipple come with a heat exchanger?

That's a good question. It's way different from your centri

The whipple does have a liquid cooled intercooler/ heat exchanger. It has a pump that mounts on the tank in the bumper and pumps coolant through the radiator style intercooler up front. It then sends the cooled fluid through the lower intake manifold so the air gets cooled before it gets into the motor.

I sold my Camaro, but the backyard sucked up most of it. Whipple is my choice also, I prefer the front inlet and the power is awesome. Rode in my neighbors corvette with a whipple, love it sounds wicked.

Ahhhh yes, thank you kind sir for edumacatin' me. I knew there SHOULD be an exchanger involved, just didn't know if you were going to run one as you bought used. Good deal broseph. Can't wait to hear this thing.

Well I've posted some of this in some other threads but hey this is my build thread so deal with it πŸ˜€

Got some more parts from the same guy I got the whipple from. Figured why not. Gt500 (13-14 6 piston) brembos. Even though I LOVE my freshly powder coated 4 Pistons I couldn't turn these down. They are like new. Also grabbed his MGW race spec and a moroso coolant tank.

Yeah I'm not sure how I feel about the MGW. I really like my FFRP but I need to see what all the hype is about.

Is it the 1st or 2nd iteration of the race spec?

Yeah I will man. I really liked the Blackhawk CC that time I went. It was a bit cold but the turnout was awesome. Maybe this time I won't have a work incident explode on me as soon as the show starts. What a pain that was. I was on the phone 80% of the in time I was there.

Anyway, it's going to be a different car then the last time I was there. Look at this throwback! Man!

Yup! That was the last (and only time) i saw your car in person. Definitely is going to be a whole new car. That was the coldest one i went to also. But should be much better within the next month or 3 until summer ends. Sam's car has gone through some nice changes as well. Saw him recently at our Sac Raceway show.
