Glad I don't have a wife like that. She's not into 6k rings and ****. She'll pick out what she wants but even she would think that's a crazy amount for a ring.

My wife's a tech head like me. She'll want all her crazy gadgets like me. Were also a family of gamers.

I forget the rule of thumb, I think it's like 1/4 of your yearly salary lol. FFFFF that noise. She'll be lucky if she gets a 3k ring.

Now your like why the ffffffuuu did he take his magnaflow cat back system off? I'm trading them tomorrow for some borla ataks from whitecali5.0 he will benefit from the larger OTA 3" and a bit quieter muffler with his FI and plans to go off road. And I will get a little louder muffler since I'm keeping my cats. It's a win win and a fair trade 👍🏻

So I did the trade and now have a nice set of borla atak mufflers. I was going to just slap them on and forget about it since the car is a daily driver but I just know I would want to clean the road grime off them at some point and if they were on the car it would be much more difficult obviously. So I reluctantly held off the install and have been wet sanding and polishing on and off today when my arms feel up to it. I made the mistake of finding a how to make stainless look amazing online and now I really want to make these things look stupid shiny because apparently I hate myself. lol. Let me just say I'm pretty sure I don't have fingerprints at the moment.

Now whitecali5oh only had these on his car for a few thousand miles but out where we live there is so much crap on the roads. So they had a bunch of road grime on the tips. Not his fault. And don't get me wrong, these things were not in bad shape. I just get on a kick sometimes and I don't allow myself to half *** anything.

So here are a few shots. Keep in mind I'm not done. I think I need a few more grits of wet sand paper to achieve a true looking mirror finish I am after. But here we go. Call it a teaser since I'm board right now.

Here is what one looked like before. And honestly it doesn't look like borla really sends these out polished up like some manufacturers do.

Again this is the first time I have ever messed with polishing stainless. The how to I read said to start with 100 grit and work up all the way to 2000 grit with about 7 grits in between. I didn't start that low as the how to was for never polished stainless basically raw untouched. I started with 1000 grit wet and then went to 0000 steel wool, then mothers mag and wheel polish. I think I need to step to 600 first to work out some bigger stuff and then go 1000,1500,2000 then maybe 0000 steel wool, then polish. We will see if I'm up to it! I am pretty happy with this one as of now. But of course I know it could be better.

Don't even get whitecali5oh started. He went to take me for a ride and it was nothing but pot holes and road construction. Not to mention the leftover gravel junk from the snow. Seriously he complained about it during the ride, and rightfully so! Bahahaha

Wow nice clean up. Looks better than new. My girl makes fun of me cuz I clean things that most people will never see like under the car and under the bottom of the hood. Took that carpet panel thing off then washed and waxed the underside of the hood then put the panel back on. It's pretty obsessive lol

Roads here are garbage. People don't even understand lol. And yes. Those mufflers look better now than they did when they came out of the box honestly. They weren't that shiny new

Thanks everyone. It's really killing me right now to not get these on and get a taste of how they sound. I have to travel the next 2 days for work and spend 2 nights in a hotel. I am seriously considering bringing these with me and working on them in the hotel at night. I am limited on time when I'm home because of the fam. But I will literally be sitting doing nada . And I might even bring the 13mm socket and wrench along and find a place I can back the car over a ledge or something and get them on. Hahaha.

Jesus.. Nice job. When I got my Borla S-Type from craigslist, they weren't in the best of shape. I plastidipped them black and called it a day lol.

Where do they have you in a hotel for the next 2 days?

Thanks man. Yeah I know it's kinda pointless but honestly I don't care what I'm doing as long as I have something to do. I am hoping to get these on tomorrow if I have the time. I'm sure they are going to sound amazing.

http://youtu.be/ayemxBdI0bc

How loud are the s types? I'm guessing they were about the same as my magnaflow streets were. Which I loved but sometimes just wished they were a bit louder. I'm pretty sure I'm going to get my wish now.

The s-types are louder than I thought they were gonna be. You should be happy with the ataks. I'm going off road x soon, just unsure of the brand right now. Not sure if it's worth spending the extra money on the magnaflow (5-600) vs pypes/jba/lethal

Yeah I'm keeping my cats otherwise I would have kept my magnaflow streets. I think I will be happy with the sound but I'm pretty sure my wife is going to hate hearing me start it in the garage. Bahahaha.

Yeah your neighbors will hate you to hahaha. You'll love these man. I can't believe the way you've made them look better than brand new. Amazing. The magnaflow streets have an intoxicating tone outside the car. Super mellow. And so quiet inside the car. But I think I'm deleting the cats for that little extra volume, but I'll still have the awesome sound.

I have an H pipe and cat deletes with my borla s types. I think yours will probably sound better with cats, but I haven't heard them without.

It's very loud with cats. I had them first with an after cat x pipe and resonators, then took off the resonators and decided i didn't like the sound as
Much. So I traded him these for his magnaflow catback.
