Don't know where you are but here in New England I would say anything under $200 would be fair.

Have you done any prep and paint on a car or any parts before?

I am getting one painted right now for under 100 bucks. It really depends on what color it needs to be painted and where you take it. Go to a mom and pop place and make friends with the guy their and see if they are interested in doing it for cash. It's a good little "side" job. Another avenue is to go to a regular body shop and talk to the painter there and see if they would be interested in doing side jobs. It is easy money for them.

You can always try to do it yourself, worst case is it looks like poo and you have to have it done anyway. But honestly by the time you buy 20 dollars worth of paint, 15 dollars worth of prep materials and spend half a day cursing at the random bug that landed in your fresh coat it's prob worth just getting it painted professionally.

Unless you got a spray gun, some kind of decent booth set up, and some experience you shouldn't paint it yourself, it's too nice of a car

You must be in the South Houston area. There's no decent priced body shop or automotive shop ANYWHERE around here. And the quality out here is garbage. Just a whole lot of stupidly expensive garbage...

Maybe sell it and buy one off AM, might be the cheapest route. Is it red candy metallic (darker red) or race red? I'm in need of a candy red one 😃

Take it to a shop, offer them money, they should paint it. Money can be exchanged for goods and services.

Or... sell it and buy a prepainted one from AM.

Yeah but now more prep is involved so that's more time which can be more money. If I were you I would sand it down myself and get it all prepped out. Might save a few bucks.

They'll have to sand it down first, get a quote from them and see how much. Sanding down a wing will not take a competent shop very long.

gt500 rear spoiler how to paint?

Know what ISN'T fun? Getting the stock spoiler off. That adhesive is so good it the spoiler is as good as molded into the trunk. What a pain in the ***.

Unless you have some experience and proper equipment to do auto body paint, it will always come out just like you worried it would. Like you took a rattle can and painted it. Same thing with plasti dip.
It's really worth it to take pride in your Mustang and mods and do it right the first time. Your mods may take longer to save up for but you will look better standing next to it.

Its like that for a reason, can you imagine the lawsuits if the OEM stuck on pieces were not secured with that sort of adhesive? Fun fact, that crazy glass hotel in Dubai has all its exterior panels attached with a special $$$$$$$$$$$$$ adhesive. Chemists can make some wild stuff these days...

I've seen some pretty ridiculously good rattle can jobs honestly but with a normal person doing it... looks like a rattle can job.

If you want to learn to paint, get yourself a decent gun and a compressor and a basic decent paint. Pull some body panels out of a JY car and practice prepping them and then painting them. There are a ton of tutorials and how-tos on Youtube. I need to take my own advice and do this honestly. Hang some plastic on your garage, do the box fan/filter thing and that's a DIY "booth".

That's another thing. You put a part on a bench and spray it you are GOING to have contaminants in it or a fly will land on it or SOMETHING.

Maaco is like... Bottom of the barrel but if you did all the prep and all they had to do was spray and clear it probably is fine.
