3.7 exhaust on a 5.0

Hey guys I was just wondering about this but would a set of axle backs for a 3.7 work on a 5.0? Thank you.

That's weird though because I've seen pictures of them and they seem the same. Although that's just a picture so I guess that's the downside

I know on the 05-09s it is 2.5 for the gt and 2.25 for the 6. An exhaust shop could make it work I am sure. Why are you asking?

They're not a direct bolt on. I'm not sure about any side effects, if any, of the different inlet pipe size either if welded on.

I'm also curious about them not fitting right in the cutout, like maybe be sunken in

Well I couldn't imagine it would be bad for it if they were different sizes welded together.

Ok so according to American muscle, the GT exhaust is 2.75 and the v6 is 2.5 so I guess that clarifies it for anyone wondering.

And another thing to consider is how the inside of the muffler varies. It could have a different setup and sound really bad with the 5.0

Maybe delve into the depths of YouTube to see if you can find a video

i wouldn't put it. the v6 exhaust is made to work with the sound of the v6 engine. putting it on a 5.0 would sound....odd to say the least

If you put it on, for *ucks sake, please put it back RIGHT before you trade it in or sell it so the next owner doesn't purchase a stupid headache.
When we do that, we screw over our fellow Mustang enthusiasts like you and I and everyone on this forum because that's who will buy it next.
Other than that, it's your car, and yours to make "special".

No need to be offensive I never did put that on my car, I was just wondering if it would work or not.

It can (gotta weld your 5.0 inlet pipes onto them) but you're going to choke your motor big time (ask me how I know). 3.7 piping is 2.25", while GT is 2.75". Not worth the risk
