Steering wheel swap 11 base gt? help.

Hey, as we all know the base gt's came with some sorry *** steering wheel's. i decided to buy a 2014 gt premium wheel to replace it. I did research and everyone said its plug and play. However the wheel i bought has the more complicated buttons with the arrows and ok on the cruise side. Now my cruise doesn't work. could it be that i need the button modules that look like this? I think you have to have the dealer change programing for the buttons to work.

Have you tried removing the left side premium button and putting your cruise button in?

The button pieces pop out and are swappable.

If you want the additional controls from the newer wheel, you have to have Ford reprogram your ACM with their IDS system. The sounds & cruise controls will work if your headunit (ACM) is reprogrammed. The SYNC functions obviously won't, since you don't have SYNC.

There's a whole thread about it here:
Base Mustang owners: do you want working steering wheel stereo controls? - Page 13 - Ford Mustang Forums

Basically, you need to change the middle 4 digits to 908B for the Premium wheel, I put xxxx's where the other hexcode would stay the same. It varies from car to car.

727-01-01 xxxx 908B xxxx

P.S. I have my Premium steering wheel for sale in case anyone wants its. $50 + shipping.

I figured it out, i changed nothing. my wheel is the way i got it with the 4 arrows on the right side. to put cruise on you have to press minus, plus really fast and it sets the speed. then to coast you press or hold the + symbol, and to add speed you hit cancel/reset button. To shut it off your press of/on. It took me a while to figure it out, i guess the premium cruise module is different, im just glad it works.
