Went to the track.... Need a few more tenths...

So finally got to the track and only got 2 good passes in. Best one was 11.6 @ 116. 1.62 60' (put challenger hellcat in the mirror that pass) . I want consistent 11,30's. That's my goal on motor. My current times are full weight glass roof premium model on sve drags using mickey Thompson et Street radials 28" tall. The 295's and front runners. Mods are long tubes or-x pipe, kooks axle back boss manifold, bbk 85mm tb, jlt cai with a dirty filter, AED tune for 93 and a circle D 5c converter. Also running a 373 gear. Im taking it down to a 331 since I'm going into 4th. Current shift points are 7500. I picked up some BMR lower control arms, adjustable panhard bar, adjustable upper control arm and body mount. Also my converter is locking up in 3rd gear about 6200 rpm. I am going I talk to AED about raising this to around 7200 ish unless that's a bad idea? So should these suspension mods get me where I'm wanting to be or a waste since the car is already making a nice 60'? Scale was broke so couldn't weight it but only weight out was spare tire. Was also on 5/8th a tank since the track was an hour away. Also considering some 90/10's for the front. Thoughts or suggestions?

I'll add my first pass was 11.7 at off idle launch. Second pass listed above I left at about 2200-2500. Tried leaving at 3200 but got wheel hop and had to let out of it. Screwed up a bushing or something because my friend said the rear end looked crooked or tweaked a little after that incident and almost looked like it had a minor dog walk one Highway on the trip home. Will know more when I swap that suspension in.

Install the suspension parts you bought and definitely switch to the 3.31's and see where you stand. A good set of adjustable shocks/struts will help. The 60' is pretty good but you should be able to get a 1.5x with the 5C.

Any idea what the DA was?

No not sure. How would I find that out? Does the mph seem right? I see a lot running in the 115-116 range then some in the 120 range all Similar times.

MPH is okay but until I see what your D/A was it's tough to give a real evaluation.

Plug your info in here.

Good, glad to hear. Should be direct bolt in even in Stock Springs right? Nothing else needed?

Shouldn't need anything else. But I'd double check with someone that runs a drag setup

I'm running Strange struts up front with Viking doubles in the rear. Also running BMR springs tho so can not relate to stock. Have not been to the track this season but ride is great and have not had any issues.

I also went with 05-09 struts and used GT500 strut mounts.

I would say if you went with the 11-14 struts you may want to replace your stock mounts. They're around $40+ each. And at that price you may as well go with the GT500 mounts which are a stronger design however you will need to use the 05-09 struts due to the strut shaft length.

Thanks for the info guys. Gf ordered my the 11-14 version for the 11-14. Why would I need to replace the strut mounts? Car only has 37k on it.

11-14 stock mounts tend to separate when disassembling your struts. Be careful and you may be ok. Others have had a "clunk" or popping noise threw time after replacing struts and or springs.
If not to late I would recommend going with 05-09 set and spending the extra $100 for a set of GT500 mounts. Direct replacement and much stronger setup. Ask around and I'm sure others will agree.

Little more info? So get the strange 10 way for the 05-09 and get 05-09 gt500 strut mounts? Just more durable?

Si just to clarify here, if I go with the 05-09 style strange struts I need the strut mounts for an 05-09 gt500 not a 10-14 gt500, correct?

You want the mounts for the 11-14 GT500 and pair them with 05/09-10 struts. At least that's what I did.

Believe I ordered mine from LMR and they only carry one set stating "original equipment on '11 GT500"
Will state 05-14 mustang but that is only with the use of the 05-09 struts.

So I swapped the 11-14 Strange 10-way adjustable struts for the 05-09 style. Called AM to get the mounts and they're telling me the mount in universal 05-14 GT, GT500 etc. Don't seem right. Can someone provide me the part number I need? My car is an 11. Confused on if I need 05-09 GT500 mounts since I have the 05-09 style struts or 11-14 GT500 style mounts as my car is a 2011???????

I believe you would need the 05-09 strut mounts since you have the 05-09 springs/shocks.

GT500 mounts are the same for all GT500's. 2007-2014

So just get the mounts and the 05-10 struts and you'll be set.
