Vortech supercharged 5.0

Just curious how long you guys think my stock coyote 5.0 motor will last being Vortech supercharged. It makes 575 rwhp running at 7psi. Its my daily driver. I don't beat the crap out of it but I don't baby it either. I know a lot of it depends on the tune so I got it dyno tuned so I'm pretty sure my tune is spot on. Let me know what you think.

How much did your vortech cost you? I'm thinking about getting one myself.

The total cost was 8,000. That's including labor for having the shop install the supercharger, a boost and air/fuel ratio gauge, and a dyno tune.

It is amazing that if you picked up a leftover base GT auto like I did for a hair under 27$. Then spend $11-12 for blower, wheels/tires, and some susp mods, you can have a killer (600ish HP) car, brand new, no labor on your part (sans no warrantee) for under $40.

And it should be pretty reliable too...........

Why didn't you get TT's if it cost you $8,000?

I would imagine a tt kit would come in over 8000 tuned and installed

Definitely. And to run substantial amount of boost, you'd have to invest in forged internals. The Vortech is a damn near perfect FI unit if you don't wanna dive head first into the motor. Turbos are more $$$, and a lot more involved than just slapping them on and calling it a day. Don't forget, we have 11:1 compression. Not the best for turbos.

I agree and it always seems like there are one or two things not in the kits that you have to buy in addition.

I wouldn't worry about the mt82 too much unless you're beating the crap out of it. If it breaks, upgrade is all.
