I have longtubes, off road x, and frpp sports. No drone at all, fairly quiet at idle, and monstrous at wot. Gonna remove my resonators and it should be even better.

Go with the BORLA "ATAK" I installed mine 2 weeks ago and it is exactly what your looking - quiet at cruising speed and no drone - it's expensive but worth every penny!

I've had Roush AB for ~1700 mi so far, and I love them. Would definitely recommend. A little highway drone, but not even noticeable with the radio on.

I have the gt500 Axel backs which suit me well. But if I could do it again I'd have gotten the bassani's.

So I installed my cats again, and now am running jba h pipe with the roush ab,

The h pipe compared to stock pipe really made it a deeper tone.

Yeah that's the thing. I would like to have loud, but not at that level. I think there would be nothing legal about slp's with longtubes and catless xpipe. I could care less about legal in terms of b.s. emissions.

I still wonder how magnaflow streets would sound though. If all you're changing is the muffler, mag streets or Borla S type would be my vote.
My buddy has Maggie's
They sound great, myself I have Quad (302 Boss) setup waiting to put on with stk muffs for now on my 14 GT If I don't like sound I will try GT500 muffs

Love my GT500's and couldn't beat the price. They aren't as in your face loud as Roush and others.

They are $500 now. Better options out there.

Autonation will have them cheaper obviously, but you get the point. They've gone up in price A LOT.

I picked up GT500s used for $200. Love them, loud when you get on it and no drone.

BORLA the Best

BORLA "ATAKS" The sound you want and no drone - they are not cheap but you get more from BORLA than you pay for!

Axle back flowmaster

I put on an axle back flowmaster with no other planned mods in the near future. Exactly what you describe, as in not over the top but people still notice when you hit the ignition or put the hammer down. Price wasn't bad either. My guess is these guys all gave you great advice, gotta go with what you like.

Ready to buy an axle back exhaust, any suggestions?

I might be pulling the plug on some Roush extremes later this year...
I think they make them for coyotes as well, but I could be wrong on that...
Which all they are, are resonators, and a Roush 4in tip...

Adventure till you drop.

Just installed the Borla touring axleback on my5.0 yesterday.
Idle is strong and deep sounding, and when driving, noticeable but
mild on the inside till you get on the gas. The 4.5" tips look beefy.

Yeah, I was expecting 4" tips when I ordered mine. 4.5" tips are wild!

Loving the Roush axle backs. Rectangular tips are sweet, Work really well with the Boss Side Pipes. Plenty of Crackle and Popping.
