Does anyone shut this off when just blasting around town?

Nope. It stays on unless I specifically intend to get into some trouble

You can turn traction control off, then go one step further and turn ADVANCETRAC off.

You can also put sport mode on with some models. Turns off traction control, and reduces ESC. OP, ADVANCETRAC off is TC and ESC off.

Same here, it's like mine is broken. It will spin all the way up the street until you back out of it.

I wondered if mine was broken too! And then one day I went to accel hard and it cut my power for a moment. So it was like it decided to work all of a sudden. I'm confused as to why? The traction light came on and everything.

I know it's spinning because it will step out to the side slightly so when I get out of it you can feel the tires catch and the car straighten itself up. That and the tachometer trying to jump out of the gauge.

I do the same. I start the motor and reach for the switch. Read about one guy who mentioned he was abit disappointed with the performance of his new GT. Thought it was a little bit of a dog. Then someone told him to shut the traction control off and try it. Was totally excited as to how fast his car became. Especially from a dead stop. LOL, who knew?

Push the switch twice w/the brake n puts you in sport mode. Hold it down from 5 seconds and it's like driven an old school muscle car

Do that in a large parking lot, unless you know what you're doing. When you're on the street, "Nannies" can be a good thing.

2002 GT. I turn mine off, put on sunglasses, drive fast, do a U-Turn, Lose a lot of traction, poop pants, then drive home slowly......

nah, seriously tho, during rain in the street, its saved my *** a couple times. dry, sometimes i turn it off when i wanna launch harder. If i lose traction and it kicks in, it takes an extra second too long to go back to normal, and my fast takeoff is ruined.
I dont have all that fancy sport mode, advancetrac, etc. just cruise control, defroster, and windshield wipers.

Pretty sure after 30+ years of driving overpowered cars I know when a tire is spinning or not. And as mentioned, the thing gets squirrely sideways pretty easy.

For those that turn it off every time. Use a timer circuit, fed off a run only power feed, tied into the TC switch and you never have to touch it again.
