how much power? driveshaft or twist an axle tube, which generally happens with drag radials, but something to look out for since you're an MT car

There's a very good chance that Torsen will break. It's not meant for drag racing.

That's what I thought. The torsen is really that weak on the strip?

Roush used them on the 427R track packs too.

^ The torsen only came on the track pack and boss cars. You may have the 3.73 gears but not a torsen.

If I could find my sticker, I'd show you lol. Clearly stated it had the Torsen.

Use this link to get your window sticker, all you have to do is enter your vin number. I am curious because if your sticker actually says Torsen that would be very strange.

Ahhhh, maybe I stand corrected here? What brand limited slip is it if it isn't a Torsen? Maybe the dink who sold it to me said it had the Torsen lol.

You don't have a Torsen.

No worries. It is a common misconception when people see the upgraded 3.73s on their sticker that it is a Torsen. It's not, rather it is simply the stock clutch type LSD with 3.73 gears instead of the stock 3.31s. I think the confusion lies in the fact that the Torsen only comes with 3.73 gears.

Technically though, anyone could swap other gears such as 3.55 or 3.31 onto their Torsen if they wanted.

there really is no point in asking this question. there is always a chance you will break something when racing, that's the risk you take.

True. I just want to know if the trac-lok is a decent unit

.... There is a very good reason to ask. Everything can break but something break less because they are quality units

I've got over 100 passes on slicks, clutch dump at between 4500 and 6000. Nothing unwell yet. Clutch will likely go first, if you do a lot if this but I wouldn't be too worried based on what I've seen.

I guess I did actually kill something: The factory sway bar end links didn't last long but, they wouldn't have anyway, based on History and Ford replaced them without batting an eye. I did start to see a little weeping on one shock too but Ford also replaced that w/o complaint.

The factory traction-lok is a good diff. I've had them in 3 mustangs, all using sticky tires and raced and haven't had one fail yet. I did rebuild the one in my supercharged '88 but, that was because I wanted to restack it so it would grip harder.

There's good stuff out back, standard. 31 spline axles, rumour has it 3.73 cars got the carbon clutches out of the GT500.
