I just installed the corsa extreme system on my 14 and I love the way it sounds! It may not be the loudest but the sound is well worth it.

If you go too loud you're probably going to get hassled when you get your next brake tag/smog/whatever its called there inspection.

It used to be a no brainer when the FRPP GT500's were like $300 when I got mine. Now they're like $500 and generally not in stock anywhere!

But since you live in CA, and are more likely to deal with SMOG, CARB, etc. certifications, I'd get the Ford Racing GT500 axlebacks.

Since they're a Ford Part with "FORD" stamped on them. You're less likely to deal with the CARB certification / SMOG testing.

While they're louder than stock, they look completely stock.

So if a pesky brake tag inspector or whatever they're called there looks under your car, he's going to see the FORD logo and assume you're stock and POSSIBLY not test or hassle you.

Welcome! What I did before purchasing my setup was listen to a bunch of sound clips. If you go to americanmuscle.com they have sound clips for most of their exhausts. Also plenty of reviews on each. Also YouTube is also great. I have mbrb race series catback and love it, but you'd be fine with an axle back unless your planning on doing some serious upgrades and need the extra diameter.

Ive been on AM and listening to the sound clips but i really cant judge based just on a video. Ive read alot of good reviews on the pypes bomb and they say theyre loud. Theyre also affordable

I have the Corsa Extreme's installed as well. I consistently get comments on good it sounds. The Ford track key really makes them stand out at idle and when you get on it they just sound awesome!! I have included my YouTube link of my car at idle with track key. I'll post another revving it tomorrow.

Borla Atak Catback. One of the nicest sounding exhausts on the coyote, IMO.

They might be loud and cheap, but they're also not legal in Cali. Like the earlier post, go with the GT500's.

New mustang

Heard a lot of good things about the Ford touring exhaust. Sounds like that or the GT500 would be ur best bet in your situation

Videos online are only as good as your system you're listening to them on. (crappy cellphone speakers won't cut it)

Try listening to the sounds clips on a PC (or SmartTV) hooked up to nice stereo system, preferably with subwoofer(s).
Or through the Bluetooth audio in your car could be decent.

For a more true to life sound you really need a BIG speaker system with full range of frequencies.

Videos online are also only as good as your recording device. Often times even the PC speaker system won't matter because the recording was made on a cell phone camera or a Gopro.

True, they're only as good as the weakest link.

You need:
  1. decent quality recording device (input)
  2. encoded at high enough quality bitrate (storage)
  3. good quality speakers /playback device (output)

New mustang

Here is my setup

http://youtu.be/xoEw2bo8lYw

I traded magnaflow street cat backs for the Borla ataks. Even catted with resonators and the magnaflow tru-x pipe they are plenty loud with zero drone. At the end of the day you have to decide what you want. But if you go off road with resonator deletes and a loud muffler or muffler delete it's going to get you in trouble everywhere you go. That might sound something like this.

http://youtu.be/fp0yJF26B0M

Which is okay if you can get away with it and it doesn't bother you.

I'm running single tip GT500 mufflers with resonator delete. Sounds great IMHO. Not all systems are noise compliant with CA regulations but only you can decide if that is an issue where you live or if it matters.

In CA, as long as you are running cats and run clean with no faults, the smog check place won't probably care how loud you are. The cops on the street, however, have the discretion of citing you for anything that they perceive as 'too loud' and its up to you to prove its a legal Db or fix it.
I run the GT500's - they are louder than stock but not obnoxious.

New mustang

You can hear my car blocks away and I've never had a cop say anything about exhaust. And I've revved it all the way up near a cop before when someone cut me off. Northern Cali
